Hi everyone!
My name is Marcus Onofrietti and I am a Qualtrics Customer Success Manager over Higher Education. I grew up in Washington & Salt Lake City, and attended the University of Utah for my bachelors & masters degrees, both in Economics. After working in Higher Education for nearly 5 years, I joined Qualtrics 2 years ago working with Higher Education customers helping them develop their programs and get the most value out of Qualtrics.
One of our most common asks from Higher Ed users is for a forum specific to the industry, allowing ideas & questions to be shared across campuses. I'm so excited to have a forum specifically for our Higher Education customers. I hope this can be a valuable place for you all to be able to get questions answered, connect with others, and learn more about how to improve your experience programs and uses of Qualtrics.
Hi everyone!!
I am Megan Reiner and am a Customer Success Manager for Qualtrics working with Higher Education. I am originally from San Diego, California but my love of figure skating took me away from the beach and I attended University of Michigan where I received my BS in Kinesiology. I attended University of Washington for my Master's in Education and have spent the last 7 years before joining Qualtrics working at University of Michigan and University of Utah. On the Customer Success team, my goal is to help our Higher Education customers find value in their license and explore ways the platform can address campus challenges.
I am so excited to help get the Higher Ed community up and running and believe it will be an incredibly valuable tool to our university customers around the world. Higher Education has always faced unique challenges and we hope this is a place to brainstorm ideas, share experiences and connect with others to successfully utilize Qualtrics across your school.
Hi everyone! I am Betsy Strahin from University of Wisconsin-Madison. I work as a market research analyst in the Division of Continuing Studies. Although I am not a Qualtrics Administrator, I am the "go to" person in our division when it comes to all matters Qualtrics.
I started working for the university in September 2014 (I can't believe I'm going on six years!) and that is when I also started learning Qualtrics. I support my colleagues in a variety of use cases from class evaluations (typically with start and end dates outside of your typical semester format) to using it as a registration system (although we lack integration to collect funds and that must be done separately) to panel surveys to self-assessments (aka our "Glamour quiz" opportunity - sometimes these are used to sort people into the right class or group and other times they are used as a pre- and post-assessment with reflection questions for the learners).
Prior to working at UW-Madison, I spent 5 years in Maryland working in a full service market research firm. I started as a research associate and made my way up to research director before life took me in another direction. At the full service firm, I worked primarily with our higher education and health care clients.
In my free time I enjoy playing soccer but the pandemic has put a serious wrench in league play. I am hopeful for the day that it will be safe to play contact sports again.
I know I met some wonderful higher ed users at the 2019 X4 in Salt Lake City and I hope to meet even more of you now that effort is being put into breathing more life into this channel.
Hi everyone,
I'm Marty Klubeck, a Service Offering Manager at the University of Notre Dame. That means I'm a product manager and one of my favorite products is Qualtrics. In Qualtrics language I'm a Brand Administrator... I teach classes on Qualtrics use, assist in creating workflows and forms, and resolve issues (2nd level support). I also try to help with identifying feature requests and help others in the community with challenges. I've done a little with API (having a google sheet update with qualtrics responses as they are submitted), some with REGEX (for validations), and a LOT with Contact Lists and Workflow. We actually list Qualtrics as a Business Process Automation tool (one of four choices for our users). I am definitely happy to geek out with anyone on cool things to do with Qualtrics!
Hello, I'm Rosemarie Lang, a Project Support Specialist in the Tepper Academic Services unit at Carnegie Mellon University, Tepper School of Business in Pittsburgh, PA. I have spent the last 3 years, of my 20 years at CMU, implementing Qualtrics as our new RSVP event system named "q-Vites" which replaced our old ASP e-Vite system created many moons ago.
I'm in the process of designing forms in Qualtrics to create/improve workflows throughout the Tepper School. I collaborate with our computing department by setting up forms so computing can easily transmit info via API to another system that has drastically improved workflow and efficiencies for our undergrad department.
My most notable project was to assist our computing department with updating staff & faculty's computing equipment in an efficient and timely manner. Using personal links and embedded data fields, the form is distributed and the end user verifies their info on the form and updates accordingly. The downloaded feedback is converted into a format for the computing department to easily update their database. A shout out to Betsy Strahin who helped me with the embedded fields, she is so helpful and knows her stuff.
This is so exciting to finally have a group specific to higher ed and I hope to learn from others as I am always looking for more challenges and ways to improve workflows and processes.
RoseL Nice to meet you (again!). It's great to hear the full story of how our interaction helped you complete your work. It's really impressive what you have been getting done.
Hi all,
I'm Heith Simpson, Research Associate at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana! I've been in this position for about a year now and the amount of "AH-HA!" moments I have had in regards to learning things about Qualtrics are far, far too many to count or remember. Primarily, I utilize the survey platform and the CX Dashboarding to curate, distribute, and report our Course Evaluations (Course Perception Surveys) to students and faculty. Our university uses Qualtrics for so many things (countless forms within departments) and have been a lifesaver during this time in the world where the thing we need the most is - FEEDBACK!
If anyone else uses CX Dashboarding for their Course Evaluations or use CX Dashboarding for distribution to large amounts of users - lets have a chat with our questions for each other!
Very, very happy to be included,
Heith S.
Hello, Friends! I'm Michelle Carlson with Michigan State University, specifically MSU IT. I was the project manager rolling the enterprise license out to campus in 2016, which involved working with the various departments on campus to get their licenses integrated etc etc. I was a Brand Admin for a couple of years after that, but have moved more into a 3rd level/consulting role with our Qualtrics instance now.
I finally got my Qualtrics Expert certification last year (2019), but there's so much I haven't had the opportunity to use yet! (APIs, I'm looking at you). Love working with the platform and hope to be able to be more involved as things calm down with the WFH switchover we've all been experiencing. :)
Hi Everyone! Sorry I'm late to the game--I've been out for the last month, but I'm back to work now
I'm Virginia Moench and I've been working at Appalachian State University for the past year and two months. Prior to this I worked at Winston-Salem State University for nearly 5 years, which is where I learned to use Qualtrics. At WSSU I was the Qualtrics Administrator and worked to implement Qualtrics across the university. We used it for most everything such as course evaluations, pre/post assessments, satisfaction surveys, assessment, rubrics, scheduling, etc.
Now, at AppState, I am no longer a Qualtrics administrator and I work more with visualizing survey data. However, I still consult on survey design from time to time.
Very excited to see what other higher ed groups are doing!
Hi everyone,
So excited to find this space! My name is Ashleigh and I work at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. I've been working here for 18 months now and have been using Qualtrics since day 1. We have previously used it on a small scale for feedback surveys of single events or as a form but are now looking at how else we could use it across the institution and on a much larger scale. I've just moved into a role in evaluations in our central learning and teaching department and I think there's a great opportunity for us to do more and better with Qualtrics!
I would love to hear feedback from others who have been doing this even longer and maybe are using it for their course and teaching evaluations. We have only had the Core XM product so far but looking into the CX dashboards and QClassroom so would love to hear feedback if you've used these?
Looking forward to learning more on our Qualtrics journey and hopefully hearing about what works for colleagues in other universities too.
Cheers, Ashleigh
Hi all!
Very excited to find this space! My name is Mike and I work in two higher education institutions; one as a program evaluation faculty member at a non-profit education company, and also as an adjunct professor at a local college.
I work with and teach data...research methods, information design, data visualization, statistics and measurement, etc. And I use Qualtrics a LOT in my work. I also do consulting in Qualtrics and data visualization on the side, mostly for "mad money"...but also for fun.
Would love to hear more from other users about how you are using Qualtrics in innovative ways! And, what sort of data visualizations you'd like to see the Qualtrics product family incorporate, either in reports or dashboards.
Best,
Mike
Hi! I am Katherine McGuire, and I am the Director of Institutional Research for Oxford College of Emory University, located in the U.S. state of Georgia. We use Qualtrics for everything from student satisfaction surveys, forms (it was invaluable this summer when we were trying to figure out how many students planned to come back in person, and how many we needed to accommodate online), learning outcomes assessment, course placement tests, faculty and staff quality of life surveys, as well as faculty research surveys.
Aloha everyone. I am an electronic services librarian at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa William S. Richardson School of Law. We have made use of Qualtrics for our annual technology pre-assessment survey and up until recently as an orientation tool for the incoming students and visitors to the library. I look forward to meeting you and collaborating.
Hi ya'll.

Hi all,
I'm Zach Morgan, and I lead Institutional Research at California Institute of the Arts. I'm responsible for surveys on campus, and often use Qualtrics for other data collection needs. More recently, I've been exploring using Qualtrics for course evaluations (without the specific course evaluation service), and have been focused on how best to visualize Qualtrics survey data in Tableau.
Hello!
I'm Christine Marchand from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. I have worked in Institutional Research here for more than 10 years. I've also been the brand admin for Qualtrics for more than 10 years.
Prior to coming to Drake, I worked in market research, where I honed my questioning skills. ;-)
I love surveys and I love Qualtrics. Always have.
I'm looking forward to learning from you all and hopefully being helpful as well.
Hello everyone,
I am a Senior Assessment and Curriculum Specialist at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). We use Qualtrics to conduct quarterly academic assessment of program outcomes as well as a variety of outcomes based surveys for departments across our campus. In my previous positions, in Student Affairs, at the University of Florida, we used Qualtrics for all of our program outcome and satisfaction surveys as well as sign-up forms for many of our programs and events. I look forward to learning all the innovative ways Qualtrics can be deployed in higher ed!
Hello!
My name is Tom Roscoe and I am a research analyst and brand administrator over at Villanova University. I mainly do institutional research but help out with surveys across the university. I love working with Qualtrics and helping others get the most out of the platform. Looking forward to learning together!
Hello everyone,
My name is John Glasscock, and i am the Associate Director of Institutional Effectiveness at Auburn University at Montgomery in Montgomery, AL. I have worked in Institutional Effectiveness for 5 years now, 3 of those years at AUM. I have been the Qualtrics Brand Administrator since arriving at AUM in 2017, and I handle quite a bit related to Qualtrics at our university. I assist with staff training, writing surveys, supporting surveys that have been created by others, and compiling results. We use Qualtrics for quite a bit on our campus, ranging from things like course needs, student satisfaction, interest surveys, to our graduation survey. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Hi all,
My name is Brian and I work at Belmont University in the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research. I am the Brand Adminstrator on our campus and my Qualtrics-related duties include training and consulting on the use of Qualtrics for users across campus. My favorite Qualtrics projects include those which give me the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues with a stronger computer programming background than I have in order to leverage all that Qualtrics has to offer (and learn some new skills in the process)!
Hi All-
I'm Eric Mistry, an instructional technologist/digital media specialist/"technology warlock" at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.
I'm doing a variety of experimental bending of Qualtrics to fit into new use cases on campus. Among other things, I've worked on a "choose your own adventure" diabetes simulator, linking course evaluations to our Brightspace instance, digitizing paper forms, and other fun projects.
Hi,
I'm the Director of IT and Security for George Mason University College of Science. Just temporarily holding down the fort until our tenant is moved to the university. I rely on Qualtrics for a lot of my IT related information gathering projects like our annual computer replacement program and our new faculty and staff computer purchases.
Howdy Ya'll,
My name is Johan Starr and I'm the Lead Instructional Technologist at the NYU School of Law in NYC. In addition to being the Brand Admin for the Law School's instance, I help support the various departments with projects ranging from SBA elections to integrated course feedback tools.
Very interested in pushing the use Qualtrics in novel ways to create seamless and powerful workflows both for pedagogical outcomes and business processes.
Hello,
My name is Angela and I work as the Assistant Director in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at Rice University in Houston, TX. I have been with Rice since 2011 and have been the Brand Admin managing the university-wide license since we purchased it in 2012.
I serve as the technical expert (but use that term loosely) to the university for Qualtrics but my main focus is on building, administering, and analyzing/reporting on our official university surveys (exit surveys, etc.) However, I will assist others as needed in more of a consulting role on special projects, using it for program evaluations (since I also work with accreditation related projects), etc.
I always love hearing how others are using Qualtrics and look forward to sharing and talking with you all soon.
Hi. My name is Michele Harashe. I'm the Brand Administrator for Washington University in St. Louis. I look forward to hearing more about how each of you are leveraging Qualtrics for your organizations.
