How to Prepare, Download, and Share a Qualtrics Survey Format (QSF) File | XM Community
Skip to main content

We encourage you to share Qualtrics survey templates in this Group, so others can see and find the cool projects you've built. The easiest way to share a survey is to download the project as a Qualtrics Survey Format (QSF) file. We recommend making a copy of your original project in order to make changes needed to remove information specific to your organization; however, this step is not necessary.
To prepare, download, and share your QSF file on the community, follow these steps:
Preparing & Downloading your Survey

  1. Copy your Project following the steps outlined here.
  2. Remove or change any information specific to your organization, or any information in the Project that you do not want to share. We recommend removing school names, the names of individuals (such as principals or administrators), and any embedded data fields that may not be useful to other organizations. Please note that contact list information, embedded data values, and actions associated with the project will not be shared with other organizations.
  3. Follow the steps here to export your survey as a QSF (Qualtrics Survey File).

Uploading your QSF to the Higher Ed Group

  1. Navigate to the Higher Ed Group.
  2. In the Discussions section, click the “Ask a Question” dropdown, then click “New Discussion”.
  3. Give your post a title (include 📂 QSF Template: ), description, and add the Higher Ed QSF tag.
  4. Click on the paperclip icon at the bottom of the post.
  5. Compress your QSF on your computer. (Your QSF will need to be in a .zip file in order to upload to the Community).
