Before you ever begin open text analyses in Text iQ, it is critical that you think about the following questions and their implications.
Text Topics: How will you create them? Manually? Or by using Qualtrics’ recommended topics and topic library starter packs?
- Topics are the building blocks of Text iQ. You use topics to aggregate your open-text responses and report on specific trends in those responses.
- You build manual topics yourself. So if you have a good hunch of what is in your data, you can quickly tie a few terms together to cover a wide range of textual feedback.
- Use recommended topics if you are not sure where to start. Qualtrics will build topics based on what it sees in your specific data set; you can manually edit those topics to make them even more accurate for your needs.
- Use topic library starter packs if you are not sure where to start and want a lot of topics to choose from. Qualtrics subject matter experts built these starter packs based on specific industries such as education.
- Once you have collected data and thought about the above questions, you can take action within Text iQ by analyzing topics and the sentiment that Qualtrics has assigned to the comments. Text iQ even includes widgets that examine change over time in both topic usage and sentiment score.
- But Text iQ has more! You can automate survey workflows based on specific Text iQ sentiments and topics -- right in the survey flow!
- Some schools use Text iQ to give more insights from the voice of the individuals you are surveying to understand sentiment, themes, specific feedback we are missing. Example - Analyzing results from open ended questions: Tell us more about what you like about the training you received. What could be improved in XYZ student program? What improvements would you like us to make to ABC process? How did you feel about the meal options and what recommendations do you have? Etc.
