Hi Higher Ed Buddies :)
Just wondering who out there is using QClassroom for your course evaluations in higher education? We are just starting out with QClassroom and finding we have lots of questions. It would be great to get to know others who are using it and how your experience has been!
We hope to have our course evaluations all through QClassroom and Qualtrics in the next few weeks here at Queensland University of Technology. Located in Brisbane, Australia we have around 50,000 students and are finding that the way we structure our enrolments and teaching periods is pretty complicated.
It's a challenge to translate that all into QClassroom but we're looking forward to how good it will be once it's all up and running! So please tell me about your stories (successful or otherwise) of using QClassroom. Where are you in the world? How many students are you surveying? Do you have multiple teachers in each course to survey?
Looking forward to hearing from you :)

Hi Ashleigh,
Megan Dreeszen, Director of Institutional Research & Project Management at a not-for a private healthcare college in Nebraska in US. We have a small college of about 1200 students that we will be surveying in Q-Classroom starting in a few weeks for the first time. We do have multiple teachers up to 10 since we have clinicals as well. So far from what I seen and tested Q-Classroom handles it pretty easily. The data files to import were a little tricky initially but now that we have them setup and pulling the data we want in it looks good. Not our IT will setup files to auto import using the SFTP site. So this product will save us a ton of time compared to our old tool. Also, we have integrated into our LMS Brightspace so that the students can easily click their course evaluations to complete in their course. We are working with a 3rd party vendor on the implemntation with a very quick turnaround of going live.
I am at the point where I am looking now for other schools to see what they set for their anonimize responses options. We would like to connect course evaluation results with other survey results and data sets. From what I heard n order to do that I can't set anonymize responses. Our institution has had that set in the past. How have you set yours up to run?
Thank You,
Megan Dreeszen

Hi Megan,
We have just launched our first major survey deployment with QClassroom and it successfully handled all of our teachers (we ended up with just over 400,000 surveys in total). We are also working with a third party vendor on implementation and it has been helpful to have experts to call on!
The challenge we have is that a single course might have up to 10 teachers - QClassroom only lets us show one teacher after the other, where we had hoped to present all teachers (with their photos) on a single screen and then let students tick which teacher they want to provide feedback to, then only display the teacher questions for the selected teachers. It's an ongoing challenge for us that we're trying to work on some creative solutions to make it happen!
Our responses are intentionally not anonymised - we have protocols where students are contacted by the Registrar if they make unacceptable comments (racist, sexist, etc) so we have to be able to identify all responses in those cases.
We're now working on our dashboards to present the data after the survey closes and that will be without any identifying information.
Hopefully there are some more institutions out there that can help with advice :)

https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/comment/37648#Comment_37648Hi Ashleigh - if you find a way I'd love to know. We just adopted Qualtrics and our previous survey tool allowed us to have multiple professors in a drop down so the student could select which to evaluate. Definitely miss that feature.
