Has anyone successfully used the SuccessFactors task to pull in picklist values?

This was working fine prior to the end of May and giving me the results I expected in English, since then this has started to randomly add translations.

SAP are telling me this is expected behaviour as this is a one to many relationship  and I need to use middleware to parse out into English -There is no option in this  task to do that.

Anyone out there do this or have experience?  For info suddenly integration canter is also behaving that way but we are being told nothing is wrong!
