Block Randomization Without Replacement | XM Community

Hello,

in the main section of my survey, participants encounter a total of 8 blocks (2 “A” blocks4 “B” blocks, and 2 “C” blocks, each containing a single question). The study is designed with two distinct conditions, following a between-subjects design:

  • In Condition 1 (“A Blocks before C Blocks”), participants experience the following sequence: 1 of the 2 A blocks (randomized) → 1 of the 4 B blocks (randomized) → 1 of the 3 remaining B blocks (randomized) → the remaining A block → 1 of the 2 C blocks (randomized) → 1 of the 2 remaining B blocks (randomized) → the remaining B block → the remaining C block.
  • In Condition 2 (“C Blocks before A Blocks”), participants experience the following sequence: 1 of the 2 C blocks (randomized) → 1 of the 4 B blocks (randomized) → 1 of the 3 remaining B blocks (randomized) → the remaining C block → 1 of the 2 A blocks (randomized) → 1 of the 2 remaining B blocks (randomized) → the remaining B block → the remaining A block.

How can I set this up?

Best regards and thanks in advance

Louis
