Hey there. I wanted to respond to this because it drives me crazy every time I try to find it (I forget the details year to year).
On the main scoring page - the one that has Scoring Options in blue in the right upper corner - the top left side of the page will always default to “Score”. But it’s a dropdown menu. If you click on it, you should get a dropdown showing each of the scoring categories that you defined on the scoring option page.
Choose one of your scoring categories. We’re going to use policy as our example. Scroll through the survey assigning points to every policy question on it. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HIT PUBLISH TO SAVE YOUR WORK. Then use the dropdown to choose your next category, and only assign points to the questions referring to that category. HIT PUBLISH TO SAVE. Repeat as needed.
This is one of those things within Qualtrics that I can never remember how to do for some reason, and they don’t make it easy to find. So to recap: 1. create your scoring categories using the scoring options in the top right corner. 2. go category by category in the dropdown menu on the top left (always defaults to say score, but your categories are under it) assigning points to the questions corresponding with that category. You can choose how many points to assign to each question, though it will default to 1 or 2 - I can’t remember). 3. Hit publish between each category.
That should be it! Good luck to you.
