Seemingly random linked survey error | XM Community

I have two surveys, one for patients and one for doctors. The doctors fill out their survey after the patients and they are linked using a randomly generated ID in the patient survey. Once a patient completes the survey, the doctor is automatically emailed a link to their survey that contains the relevant login ID.

Most of the time, the link works and automatically goes to the correct linked survey. Occasionally, there will be a “Unable to log in with the information provided” error. I can’t seem to identify when the error occurs or what triggers it (it’s not duplicate IDs).
