Hi,

I have some mock jury scenarios that I am using in my questionnaire, so 4 vignettes which the participants are asked to provide a sentencing response to (of which there are 15). These 15 sentencing options sit within 4 categories: No sentence, Alternative disposal (community sentence),  ≤ 2.5 years in prison, ≥ 2.5 years in prison.

Instead of offering the 15 individual sentencing options in a multiple choice question, I’m wondering can this be split into the 4 category response styles, the first which would be a simple response option “No sentence”, and the remaining three as individual slider responses (so the participant could chose for example 6 months, 1, 1.5, 2 or 2.5 years in prison for the response category ≤ 2.5 years in prison ).

Please ask me more questions if this doesn’t make sense, basically, I can’t seem to figure a way to offer mixed style response options in a multiple choice question.
