Withdrawal process

Hi

  • I am new to Qualtrics and am creating a survey for the first time. I have had some questions from ethics.
  • First, if a person does not complete the survey and does not submit it, if they exit before submission, no data will be recorded, or will any data or partial responses will be stored? I can simply let them know that: You can stop the survey at any time by closing your browser.
  • How can people save the data?
  • How can I create a withdrawal button
  • Is there anything else I should consider for the withdrawal, storage of partial answers and how people can come back to complete the survey.

Grateful for your understanding and help with providing guidance for my research participants from a culturally diverse background and ethics.

This depends on the survey option that you have set for incomplete response.

If you set it to delete, then no data is recorded.

If you set it to record, then partial response will be recorded when the response fits the incomplete response requirement.

  • How can people save the data?

Generally, if you are using anonymous link, you can make use of the Allow Respondents to Finish Later.

However, if they clear cache/cookies, use another browser or another device, they won’t be able to return to the same survey session.

If you are using Qualtrics email distribution, the survey session is saved due to the unique link.

Not sure if coding is feasible.

Alternatively, you can just ask them to email in to request for withdrawal.
