Passthrough Data from Brightspace into survey

Hi all,
I administer a student end-of-course survey as part of online courses. We previously linked to the survey from within a course shell, in Blackboard, and used query strings to pass through courseID, course name, and studentID variables (from the lms to qualtrics). This year we switched to Brightspace from D2L, and can't seem to pass through the data when the link is actually in a course. We can pass through when we just put the link in, for example, the announcements section of the LMS. However, ideally the link would be in the course, at or near the end of the course, as it is an end-of-course survey.
Has anyone put a survey in a course within Brightspace and been able to pass data from the LMS into the survey? I appreciate any tips or tricks you can share.
