Proper use cases for "Custom Property" triggers in mobile apps

Hello, I’m interested in setting up “Custom Propertys” to set me triggering logic in my mobile app.  I haven’t seen much detail on what works well and what doesn’t - aside from “you will need to work with your mobile app development team.”  I’d like to set up my mobile app dev team for success by setting them to work on use cases that have proven track records.  Does anyone have examples of Custom Property use cases that have worked well or not?  My thought is that I’d like to have the feedback shown after the user has navigated away from a particular new feature - similar to Page Referrer logic. Have folks been able to make that work for them?
