SBS column display logic

I am trying to add display logic so the column appears after the right item is selected in the previous column. The previous column is a drop down with 6 items. Depending on the item chosen I want a new column to appear with attributes about that item, and a third column would appear if in the next row a different item was selected with attributes for that item. I am not sure why the display logic is working. Is there JavaScript I can use instead.
