Public-facing dashboards give districts the ability to be transparent with their communities. This can be displayed on your website, through parent portals, or just shared internally. Below are a few frequently asked questions that may be helpful for you to read through to learn more about public facing dashboards.

  • What pieces of data should be viewed on an internal dashboard vs. a public-facing dashboard?
    • A dashboard can be made public so that anyone can access it using a single link. This means people would not need to have an account and log in to view the dashboard. Keeping this in mind, make sure your data does not contain sensitive information such as PII (personally identifiable information on students, employees, customers, or anyone else).
    • You can create separate dashboards for private and public data. Please note: You cannot make some parts of a dashboard public and other parts private. Described here.
  • How can we view certain data sets?
    • We suggest creating a new dashboard project, as detailed here
    • View this support page to learn more about filtering results
  • What is the process of making a dashboard public?
  • Do I need to pay for it?
    • It depends. Some CX licenses have the ability to display public facing dashboards. If your district would like to discuss adding this feature on to your license, contact your Account Executive or XM Success team. (Find that information here under Account Info).
  • What does the public truly mean, can anyone find it?
    • Yes, searchable by anyone.
