I've uploaded data a bit and have never had an issue. Today I went to upload data and it came in as Chinese. I uploaded an English CSV file with multiple columns/rows and it read it as Chinese with 1 cell. I've recreated the file from new to make sure the original was not corrupted.
Before I call Customer Support I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. I'm hoping for a simple solution.

As you mentioned the data in the CSV file are all in English, then please make sure the format of the file is CSV (comma separated value) / TSV (Tab-separated value).
Step 1, how to make "text to column": https://www.excel-easy.com/examples/text-to-columns.html
Step 2, save it as CSV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlfV7F_j07c
Step 3: Import it in Qualtrics
Please note: If you are importing a response then the data structure should match with your survey (you can check the data structure by exporting the data from data and analysis. You should keep the top 3 rows as is and include the data from row no. 4)

Thanks for your help. After calling Support, the told me their new importer can be a little glitchy at times. They instructed me to use the legacy uploader. Did that with no issues.
