Q: Kristi, in a few sentences, tell us about your current role.
A:My current role in our school district is as the Executive Assistant for the Associate Superintendent of Instruction. Our team helps to support everything curriculum and instruction related within the district. Another exciting part of my job is to serve as the Brand Administrator/go-to-person for everything Qualtrics in our district.
Q: Tell us about one project that you have run on Qualtrics that has been particularly impactful.
A: A project that has been a lot of fun to work on was transferring monthly mentor checklists into Qualtrics.
In the past, the checklists were done on paper. It was a manual system to keep track of who turned them in. There was no real way to analyze if all of the components on the checklists were being covered by every mentor without having to flip through each one or manually transfer the data into a spreadsheet.
There were several logistics that we had to consider when creating the survey in Qualtrics. Each group (ie. elementary teacher, secondary teacher, counselors, special education, etc.) had its own monthly checklists. We wanted to have one link that we could give to the mentors regardless of their designated group. I created a special embedded data field that we attached to each mentor with their designated group and used that within the survey's display logic. As part of the backend set up, staff used their email address to authenticate when signing into the survey. This allowed the survey to know which checklist it should display for that staff member.
I also created a dashboard that has a page for each of the employee groups and for each month. Our supervisor that oversees the mentor/mentee program utilizes the dashboard to track who has completed the survey, what areas of the checklist are being covered and any additional needs that the mentors have.
We are just starting our second month of checklists and so far the system seems to be working really well. It has really streamlined the overall process.

Q: What would you like to learn from others in the K-12 Community?
A: I enjoy hearing how others are utilizing Qualtrics within their districts. It always gives me new ideas to bring back to my team. While every project may not fit perfectly for us, it can often be modified or it sparks new ideas for us on how we can further stretch our use of the system.ย
Q: If time and money were endless, what would be your dream experience (e.g., vacation, concert, opportunity, education, etc.)?
A: If time and money were endless, I would love to be able to travel and experience different parts of the world. Part of the travel would be to relax and breathe but the other part of my traveling experience would be to work with children in other parts of the world where educational opportunities are sparse.
ย Q: Do you have any additional or fun information you'd like to share as it relates to your experience with Qualtrics?
A: I have really enjoyed getting to work with the staff from Qualtrics. Ford, Cody, and Sean have all been super awesome and helpful over the years! I'm just really excited to continue to grow our use of Qualtrics and expand the thinking that it's not just another "survey tool"!
