How is data from multiple datasources combined in dashboard | XM Community

Hi,

I am trying to understand how does Qualtrics combine data from 2 datasources in a dashboard. Below is a sample data set:

Does Qualtrics perform inner join or outer join or union of fields, in this case that of recorded date ?

Is there any documentation of how internally it performs a query ?

Hi Neha, refer below:-

You are able to map all the same fields together. For example, if you ask the NPS likelihood to recommend a brand question in two different surveys, you would map that question to the same field for both surveys. You would be able to also identify/map whether each field is a numeric or text value, etc.

I read the resources and am experimenting with this, to get what is needed - linking operational data from a CSV data source to dashboard reports. It appears that adding an additional source ‘appends’ data, rather than link records.

The intent is to ‘join’ the operational data from the CSV, by linking on email address.

Question: Is it possible / what is the best way to join operational data to a dashboard for a survey that is distributed outside of Qualtrics, as an anonymous link? Will it work to set up the embedded data in the survey flow, and then add the operational (customer) data to the directory list later using a workflow?

Stated otherwise: Is there a workaround to add external operational data for dashboard reporting, as the distribution is not from Qualtrics? Furthermore, an anonymous link is used.

Situation: Due to architecture and automation, we use an anonymous link and send the distribution outside of Qualtrics. A survey question asks for an email address.
