Hi!
My name is Laura. I'm the Associate Director in the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis at Marquette University. I've been at MU for just over a decade and have been a Qualtrics Brand Administrator since our institution got our campus-wide license about five years ago.
Our IR shop uses Qualtrics quite a bit. Right now we're running our first of several pulse surveys to students and instructors to keep tabs on the academic experience this semester. Qualtrics' directory and dashboarding are going to enable us to get surveys out, attach all needed attributes, and turn around results to a group of stakeholders quickly so that they can make recommendations and take action to improve the student experience within days of each survey's close date. Exciting!
Nice to meet you all.
Hi everyone,
My name is Karrie Rosa and I am a Project Manager with Qualtrics EX Partner, Workforce Science Associates. I have implemented over 100 EX projects encompassing all project types. I am certified in EX, CoreXM, and CX through the Qualtrics Certification program. I am always learning new things and trying to keep up with the latest innovations!
Hi Everyone! I am Paul Bern and I am the Research Data Services Librarian at Syracuse University. I provide end-user support for faculty, students and staff using Qualtrics. I conduct online workshops as well as some tutorials in specific aspects of Qualtrics. I also support SAS, Stata, SPSS and REDCap.
Salutations,
Fraser Hay here. Looks like I'm only the second non-American to post! I'm an Institutional Research Analyst in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada at a polytechnic called Conestoga College. I'm responsible for most surveys and course evaluations (and many other things
) at our Office of Institutional Research & Planning.
I sadly must report we use eXplorance Blue (
) for our course evaluations, but I hope to change that someday. Qualtrics has a lot of great features and it's been a joy to work with it at our institution now that we've centralized it (using an institutional survey policy) as the sole survey platform.
I have a wish list for Qualtrics improvements I make sure to keep finding or adding on these forums (psst, upvote the posts below), and you all should too. After all, we want this platform to meet all our needs!
I'm starting to use R a lot in my work. I have dabbled a bit in the API - though really I currently only functionally use it to add users to the system in bulk. If that sounds like something you're interested in doing and you have the API in your license, let me know, I can send you my (Python) script and show you how it works.
Stay well, down there in America!

Hello, I'm Jenn Klein from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. My position is Assessment Coordinator, and I'm housed in a department of two where we support academic/assessment software/technology. My department is called Academic Technology Applications Support (ATAS) and is responsible for supporting several pieces of academic software, which currently include Foliotek, Qualtrics, Nuventive Improve, and Turnitin. We support campus-wide assessment efforts for both accreditation reporting and continuous improvement of teaching and learning. We consult with, train, and support faculty, staff, students, and administrators across campus with ATAS-supported software and assessment processes. Additionally, during the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are assisting with exam proctoring software.
Gonzaga purchased Qualtrics a year ago, and as the campus admin, I have been learning a lot! I look forward to connecting with you all to come up with new solutions and solve issues. Have a great day!
Greetings, All.
I'm Diana from the University of Michigan. My title is Librarian, but I'm more like an instructional designer, maybe. I have been using Qualtrics for a long time. I just searched my email archives and I see messages from 2011. I'm one of the Qualtrics administrators on the U-M Ann Arbor campus. With the exception of a nagging "Unexpected Error" issue that seems unique to me, I love using Q -- and relying on the community of Q power users -- to find creative solutions to complex form-based workflow questions.
Hi all,
My name is Mark Trenchard. I lead IT for the Emory University School of Medicine. I oversee the technology services and platforms for our three missions of research, eduction, and clinical care.
My teams have administered and supported Qualtrics as a service platform for thousands of people in academic medical centers. We just released this platform to all people associated with our school and I'm eager to see how people will use it to pursue collaboration with people globally.
Hi all,
My name is Sean Beaudette and I am the Manager, Educational Initiatives and Assessment at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I lead various educational programs and assessments/program evaluations across Student Affairs and within Housing and Conference Services.
Hi everyone!
My name is Elizabeth Peters and I work at 2U, an Education Technology company focusing on Higher Ed, where I am part of our Data Science & Analytics department. My team administers and supports our student and faculty experience surveys in Qualtrics.
Hi Everyone!
My name is Zeni Colorado-Resa, and I work at Emporia State University as the Interim Associate Dean. In my role, I work with data required for accreditation. We use Qualtrics to collect this data as well as for research across the unit. I am fairly new to Qualtrics and am loving the platform so far.
Hi Everyone -
My name is Cailee Welch Bacon, I am an associate professor at A.T. Still University, which is a health sciences University located in Mesa, AZ. I have been a faculty member at ATSU since 2012 and have been using Qualtrics since 2013. Although I originally started using Qualtrics for research purposes, I know use it for pretty much everything -- including teaching in the classroom! I am so excited for the Higher Education Community and look forward to learning more from each of you!
Hello,
I work as project specialist and am Brand Administrator for my team at the University of Minnesota. I use Core XM for program evaluation surveys and the Qualtrics Employee Experience Platform for Employee engagment 360 feedback assessments. Looking forward to connecting!
Hi, all-
I am Rani Dalgin and one of my (larger) "hats" is as the lead Academic Qualtrics and REDCap administrator for Boston College. My background is quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research methods. I manage of team of research consultants who assist with academic research projects across our university and also provide analytical/methodological consultation for the data captured by these powerful tools.
The "bee in my bonnet" that has brought me here this evening is concerns about Qualtrics and GDPR. Our Qualtrics Sales manager has recently hinted that in order to add a GDPR addendum to our contract with Qualtrics, we might have to renegotiate our entire contract. I am not clear what costs are involved or if this is necessary. As I also spend a great deal of time supporting REDCap at Boston College and network with translational researchers all over the world, I believe that a good bit of GDPR compliance for any tool like Qualtrics or REDCap is process related. Of course the devil is in the details. I would love to engage in conversations, perhaps even a webinar about how other universities that use Qualtrics extensively are approaching GDPR compliance. BC is base in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts and straddles the Boston/Newton line. However many of our researchers, faculty and students are engaged in global research that will have implications for GDPR. If anyone would like to chat about this directly please reach out to me at dalgin@bc.edu.
Thanks and regards,
Rani Dalgin

Hi everyone,
My name is Jeff Sylvester and I'm the Market Research Director at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I started in the fall of 2020 as the university's first Market Research Director. So my job has primarily been to develop a strategy from the ground up for using market research across campus, and Qualtrics was one of the first tools I brought onboard to help with this.
Cheers!
Jeff
Hi all!
I am an Applied Psychology graduate student at Southern Illinois University. I am currently collecting data for my dissertation, which focusses on diversity professionals working in Higher Education. I am having trouble collecting responses because it is such a niche group. Are there any social media groups or other channels that anyone would recommend?
For the purpose of my dissertation research, a diversity professional refers to, "a full-time employee at a higher-education institution and who's role primarily focusses on supporting the institution's goals related diversity, equity, and inclusion."
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Hello fellow higher-ed Qualtrics users! I'm Virginia (Ginny) from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. I work in the office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Planning. I don't use Qualtrics as often in this role as I did at my previous institution, but I still analyze a lot of Qualtrics survey data!!!
When I use Qualtrics to administer surveys, they're primarily student satisfaction surveys and registration forms for various events. I'm attaching a basic review survey I use each year to get feedback from our annual Analytics Day event. It's a great event for anyone interested in data visualization (and I'm sure there are more than a few of you here)!
In my previous role I was a brand admin and oversaw Qualtrics training for faculty. I also implemented course evaluations in Qualtrics and built CX dashboards.
I'm very interested in unique use cases for Qualtrics (like your "choose-your-own-adventure" emistry--that sounds so cool!), accessibility in surveys and dashboards, and networking with others in the field!

Greetings everyone,
My experience with Qualtrics is with developing integrated evaluation systems for the PhD Comprehensive Exam, dissertation, and professional doctoral program work products. I leverage the XM directory extensively to store information on progress, evaluations, and feedback associated with our doctoral students, and leveraging dashboards for school leaders to track student progress. Additionally, we use dashboards to understand which evaluation criteria may signal the need to update program curriculum and faculty instruction.
We recently connected SalesForce to Qualtrics, which automated tasks requiring many hours of manual processing.
One feature I would like to see in Qualtrics is the ability to connect responseIDs across surveys. For example, connecting a submission response with an evaluation response. This would better enable us to calculate SLAs automatically.

Hello!
My name is Mary Ellen Wade and I am the Director for Assessment, Research and Strategic Priorities in the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. This is the beginning of my third week at UMBC. We use Qualtrics for our student and staff surveys. Prior to UMBC, I worked with Messina, the first-year living-learning program at Loyola University Maryland where I used Qualtrics for learning outcomes assessment, satisfaction surveys, logistical management, and development of an early intervention tool for first-year students.
Hello All,
My name is Lauren, and I am Director of English Lit at the U of Arizona in Tucson. I am a fairly new director and looking to use qualtrics to organize and automate many of the routine admin things that go out to graduate students and faculty members in my program.
Most of all, I want to make things easier for them and the next director by developing user-friendly and relatively simply forms for things like voting, course registration, graduate teaching applications, etc. In other words, I want to make their lives better through qualtrics--big dreams, I know, but hey.
In my free time, I teach and research in visual culture, contemporary literature, and digital media. I hail from Spartan Country, Michigan State University. Glad to be here, and happy to meet everyone.
Hi, I'm late to the party but I just joined the forum!
I'm Stephanie and I'm the brand admin for Brown University. Qualtrics is actually just a little bit of what I do - my usual job is on our digital innovation team, where I dream up new functionality / prototype / do user research and testing for products like our mobile app. Apart from being the service owner of Qualtrics, I also use it a lot for user research in other parts of my job!
As far as Qualtrics goes, I end up helping with a lot of high-profile projects on campus and my favorite thing is when someone does their research and comes to me with really good questions.
Hi Folks,
My name is Emma and I work at Saint Mary's University in Student Affairs in Services, and I work as a Student Transitions Specialist. We use Qualtrics for an array of things, such as event sign-up, interest surveys, evaluation surveys, and much more! My favourite projects are those that allow me to explore fully what Qualtrics offers and allow me to learn new skills. Looking forward to getting to know folks & learning more!
Hello, everyone. I'm Page from Charleston, South Carolina. As the Director of the Center for Excellence in Peer Education at the College of Charleston, I oversee the training of all students serving in peer-helping-peer paraprofessional positions on our campus. I work closely with the First-Year Experience program, and I was recently charged with developing a Second-Year Experience program which we launched in Fall 2021. We've been a Qualtrics campus since 2009, and I've served on the Qualtrics Higher Education Advisory Council for a year. Happy to be a part of this community!
Hi everybody! My name is Joe and I work in higher education in East Texas, and we really leveraged Qualtrics to navigate a recent CAEP Accreditation site visit and used that success to encourage our administration to purchase Qclassroom/Course evaluations to continue our use and success with the platform. I'm excited to see other usages by this community and look forward to asking/answering any questions!
Hello everyone!
I'm Jessika with College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas. I am the brand administrator for our HR department. Our department is new to Qualtrics and we plan to use the platform for 360° reviews. We haven't launched our first survey yet, but I have enjoyed learning about all the platform has to offer.
Hello everyone!
I am currently a doctoral candidate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in the School of Hotel and Tourism Management. Though I am currently located in Hong Kong, I still call Ottawa, Canada my home.
Have started using Qualtrics in research and have been inspired to get to know it better and have just passed my Qualtrics Platform Essentials Certification and have moved onto the XM Fundamentals Certification. They have proven very worthwhile and I look forward to integrating what I am learning about the Qualtrics platform into my future research studies.
