Condition for skip logic based on a mean score

Hello there, I want to use a matrix table with a Likert scale from 1 till 4 in my survey, and add a skip logic to it. the condition for this skip logic should be based on the average score on the different statement within the matrix table. Is there a way to do this?

Can I create custom introduction pages based on lists of participants?

Hello. I am very new to Qualtrics and trying to teach myself as I go along. Can someone please tell me if it is possible to set up a different title page that leads to the same survey? In my survey, on the 1st page, there will be a line: "You were identified for possible participation in this survey by virtue of your membership in [A]" Based on their group (there are 4 different ones), a different element will be displayed to them. Is this possible to set up in Qualtrics? The reason why I would like to set it up is because the survey is going out to 4 different professional associations, and I would like to do some analyses between the groups. Thank you.

Question Positioning Shifts Slightly (left or right) With Each Page Change

Hi, I've noticed that as I click through the preview of the survey, the questions/answer sets shift ever so slightly left or right. It makes the survey seem less professional. Has anyone else experiences this or knows how to stop it so that everything stays in the same horizontal/centered position with each page change? Thanks

Issue Sharing Participant IDs between Qualtrics and Inquisit

Hello, I am building a survey that needs to go from Qualtrics to an Inquisit Web task and then back to Qualtrics, but I am having issues with the "subject ID" transferring from Qualtrics to Inquisit. I have followed the instructions about how to share IDs between Qualtrics and Inquisit on Millisecond's website here: https://www.millisecond.com/support/docs/v5/html/howto/interopsurveys.htm. On Qualtrics, I created an Embedded Data element in Survey Flow called "subjectid" by using the piped text feature to generate a random number. Then, in Survey Options, I selected the Redirect to URL option and pasted the Inquisit task launch page URL and followed it with "?subjectid=${e://Field/subjectid}" On Inquisit, I changed how participant ID numbers should be generated to URL Parameter and called the parameter "subjectid" When I test the survey, I am redirected to the Inquisit launch page but there is no "?subjectid=" at the end of the URL and I receive the message "Failed to get subject i

Is there a way to increase the number of rows for a single question in a report past 250?

Hi everyone, I'm working on putting together a report for a survey that currently has around 350 responses. Two of the questions in this survey are Text Entry and Qualtrics seems to cap the amount of allowed rows at 250 in their report creator. Is there a way to increase that cap? Set Bookmarks in Survey Preview to Jump to Specific Question Without Starting From Beginning

Hello, Thought this might be helpful to some Qubies like me. I just finally figured this out. I wanted to test skip logic at the end of the survey but have been clicking through the entire survey from the beginning each time. Setting a Bookmark will let you skip past the survey and go directly to where you want to test/check. 1. Open your survey project. 2. Click Preview 3. Advance to the question from which you'd like to start testing (e.g. skip logic, end of survey, draw card functionality, etc.). 4. In the top right, click Bookmark 5. Click Place Bookmark. 6. The next time you want to check any changes, open Preview, click Bookmark and choose Go to Bookmark.

Selection by priority according to multiple rules

In my survey, the respondents are asked about a list of brands. At the beginning, they are lead through a kind of brand funnel (1. brands known/2. brands trusted/3. brands considered for purchase /4. preferred brand). Later on, I would like to display 2 of the brands and ask further questions. These 2 brands should be selected by the following rule: the first brand is always the own brand (if at least known in funnel #1, otherwise screen out). The second brand is the preferred brand (funnel #4), if not own brand. If the preferred brand already is the own brand, the program should look back at considered brands (funnel #3) and carry the second brand forward from there. But if only the own brand is considered for purchase (in funnel #3), the program should look at trusted brands (funnel #2) and carry the second brand forward from there. And if only the preferred brand is among the trusted brands (in funnel #2), the program should look at known brands (funnel #1) etc. On the other hand,

Difficulty with navigating the support area

My team has found it increasingly difficult to provide our end users with a direct link to a page within the support area that includes contact info. I understand that we are supposed to find answers within the support articles before contacting someone, but the way that the contact info is buried within the page is frustrating. When going to this page , most of the support request options point you toward contacting your brand admin. The only option that brings you to a support channel is "I have a different support request". Then you have to click the product you are using and type a description of the problem is before finally being presented with actual contact info. I use chat support frequently so I've become used to whizzing through these options, but for the end users that my team supports, I don't doubt that this is a confusing experience. Have others noticed the same? Can this experience be improved upon or is there a way around it?

Allow respondents to delete their own data

Below are steps of how to allow a respondent to destroy their data before finishing the survey. I was writing these for a colleague and figured I should post here as well. Why would we let respondents delete data Deleting data is dangerous and definitely not recommended. However, there are times when it may be appropriate or even required. The example that prompted this was a social psychology study that used deception, of which respondents were made aware during the debrief. If the deception prompted respondents to want to remove themselves, this technique handled that automatically. Technically, respondents are free to leave at any time during the survey. One could include a box described here on _every_ page of the survey, but that seems unnecessary unless in an extreme case. One could include as part of the informed consent too, though personally I'd want to know how many people are opting out based on the informed consent. I'd like to post an easy-to-remember link to the survey on a presentation slide. How can I do this?

I'd like to post an easy-to-remember link to the survey on a presentation slide in the front of a classroom. The current Qualtrics survey URLs are very long and difficult to remember. Is there a way to change the URL to something a lot easier to remember? I'm ok with it still having the qualtrics.com on the beginning of the URL, but is there any way to update it so it's easier to remember from that point forward?

Pairing questions

I have a block with 40 questions in pairs of two. Each question has a follow up question that must be asked if the original question is asked. The issue is, I want respondents to only be randomly given 20 questions to answer (10 pairs) from this block. Any ideas on how to do this?

Longitudinal study: how to pull out a participant's responses to two surveys automatically

Hello! I'm trying to compare students' reflections over time. They'll respond to surveys of the same questions at the beginning of the semester (Survey 1) and at the end of the semester (Survey 2). So I want a summary of their individual responses to the two surveys to show up automatically when they submit Survey 2 so that they can compare the changes, and after that they are directed to Survey 3 where they will explain why there are such changes. Is this possible in Quatrics? I know how to assign an unique ID to participants and send email triggers. I also tried "end of survey" options but haven't figure everything out yer. I have looked through other threads about longitudinal study, but my case seems to be a little different. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Custom Validation on Side-by-Side

Hi all, I'm trying to apply custom validation to the below side-by-side table so that for each row, the option selected in column one cannot be the same as column two. (i.e. the primary and secondary artform cannot be the same) ! I would have thought this was fairly straightforward, so have created the below custom validation using ${q://QID61%232/SelectedAnswerRecode/1} as the reference value for "does not equal", adjusting the last number for each row. ! However, this correctly validates the top row, but none of the others. I've scoured the validation for any obvious errors that I know of. I'm wondering if the reference values i'm using are incorrect? How would you all go about this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks!

How to record a random number meanwhile with response?

This makes me crazy... My survey is looking for the customer choice when he/she facing incentive with different level. This "different level" is random generated. Then, after survey, I would build a model to quantify the utility of different incentive to the customer choice. Who does know to record those random incentives with customer choice? Thanks!

Randomization of blocks

Hi everyone! I got a newbie question that I hope somebody can help me with! I have 16 blocks, and I wish to present ALL of these to my respondents in a randomized order. I have managed to build the Survey Flow and I have filled in the number 16 in the box of the elements that I would like to randomly present. My question is about the "Evenly Present Elements" tick box. If I want ALL of the blocks to be presented, does it matter in any way to tick this box? In my mind, all of the blocks should still be presented randomly without ticking the box? I understand its function when you only want to present a couple of the total blocks under randomization, but not when you want to randomize ALL blocks under the randomization. Does this question make sense? Can anybody help me understand Evenly Present Elements when I want to randomize ALL blocks under a randomizer in the survey flow? Thank you very much! /Vendela

PSA: Results Reporting Paginated Tables are NOT confidential

I came across this with my project today. Not sure how long this has been the case for. We use paginated tables with our results reports since it is really the only way to display qualitative data. Now, when you view the report their is a clipboard icon on the right side of the response. People viewing the report can click into this and see all of that participants responses and Embedded Data. Does anyone know a workaround? We use Results reporting exclusively, so we now have no way of sharing Qualitative responses anonymously. I called Qualtrics but the issue is not being taken seriously. This is a repeat of my posting because I accidentally posted it in StatsIQ Best Practices first. Mods, feel free to delete the one in StatsIQ

What would be the best question export tag?

Hi Qualtrics community! Currently working on my master thesis and I was wondering what you guys would advice for my question export tags. I have multiple likert scales (matrix tables) and currently my question export tags are set as Q10.1 Q10.2 etc. What would be the best question export tag in a way that its the most easiest to work with and analyse when I export the data to SPSS/SMARTPLS? How to get the right text/label for choices with the same recoded values

Hi, My Survey contains a dropdown list question with a lot of products for which I added recoded values (kcal). Some of the products have the same amount of calories and thus recoded value. When I export my test data as csv file (use choice text) and then read this file in R, I still want to be able to distinguish the products that have the same values. However, when I look at the data in R, it doesn't show the product/label that I selected but it seems to just pick one of the products with the same recoded value. How can I fix this? How to randomly select a subset of rounds for bonus implementation

Hi, I am designing a survey in Qualtrics that consists of, for example, 10 rounds that are presented randomly. For each round, participants make a choice that will determine a possible bonus for that round. So for example, if participants choose A they can get a bonus of $0.50 and if they choose B they can get a bonus of $1. At the end of the survey, I want to randomly select 3 out of these 10 rounds, and give participants their bonus payments according to the choices that they made in these 3 rounds. For the implementation, I would like to tell participants "The rounds that have been selected for your bonus are rounds #, #, and #. Your total bonus is $$," where their bonus will be the sum of the choices they made in the 3 rounds, and the round numbers refer to the display order of the rounds. I thought of using scoring and piped text to determine participants' bonus for each round, but I got stuck tying the rounds selected for implementation to the display order, since the display

How to create a nested design?

Hello, I am designing a between-subject study with 4 factors. Factors 1-3 each has 2 conditions. Factor 4 has 8 conditions and is nested within Factor 3. All materials are manipulated with a single image. If I include all combinations of conditions, I need to create hundreds of images. ! Is there a better way to make it in Qualtrics? Thank you!

Respondent compensation - anonymous survey

I am creating an anonymous survey and I would like to give the first 100 respondents compensation in the form of an electronic gift certificate. I have the 100 unique gift certificate codes. Is there a way to do this without breaking anonymity? I have read about Tango cards and raffles but these functions do not seem to fit my situation.

How to add a fixed question at the end of a randomized block?

Dear community, we would like to insert a control question into our survey that appears always at the end of a block but all other questions in this block are supposed to be randomized. My font color won't change across my entire survey and I can't figure out why?

I used strip formatting to clear all of the changes I had previously made in each questions using Rich Content Editor. Then, in the Look and Feel editor I increased the font size and changed the font color from grey to black. Everything looks correct in the font editor preview, but when you close that, the font size increases and the color changes in the survey editor page but not in the actual survey (viewed in the survey preview). In the survey preview and published survey, the font is still grey across the board while the font size increased for the question text and multiple choice answers, but not for any of the text choices in the "matrix" questions. And I did use the font options specific to "question text" and "choice text". I really just need to know why my font color will not change globally from grey to black in the actual survey when it seems to work find in the font preview/editor page.
