Shading on Alternate Rows

Hi, ' I have used "alternate shading" and "repeat all headers" in combination. This has resulted in the repeated headers having a colored shading, and all questions having a white background. This I can live with, because the goal was to visually separate the questions, but is there any way to extend the shading behind the header to the left so that there a visual line separating the statements? Or is there any way in general to separate listed statements with a visual line other than alternate shading?

Problem with Login on google chrome

Hi I have a two surveys that I am using with my participants. A week after the completion of the first survey, they receive a second survey where they have to login with a code they created a week before for themselves. I did this in order to pull over into the second survey embedded data. Somehow this isn't working in google chrome or firefox but is working in safari. I have no clue what could be wrong and have already launched my survey. Anybody have a clue? I need to fix this quickly seeing as the survey is already launched.

Release window for Qualtrics code updates?

Our developer team hopes to document the release windows for our various subscribed services and products. Is there a public-facing, or shareable-with-customers, version of this schedule for Qualtrics? Usually I find out there's been a code release after my next login, when a box pops up in the corner with new features. For comparison, here's the schedule released by Instructure for our Canvas LMS.

Hello I'm trying to enlarge flyers that I am testing in my survey. I can't seem to get it bigger than 30% of the screen. Also how do you put a link in the question that will open in a NEW TAB rather than leaving the survey and in the same tab?

Single response report - can you add descriptive text questions to report?

I have a department that wants to create a single response report for their survey respondents, but also want the final descriptive text question to be included in the report. Is there a way to do this? I'm not finding any customization options for it.

Min and max value wrong in a likert scale

Hi, I have a question that's on a scale of 1-7. However, when i add a statistical table - the min value displays as 8 and max as 14. They should be 1 and 7 respectively. Not sure what's wrong and what I can do to fix it. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Adding "offline/hardcopy" responses to recorded responses in Qualtrics

Dear community, I've distributed a survey to colleagues within the Ministry of Defence, as part of a study of unrealistic optimism in large defence acquisition projects. My issue is, that most employees use secured networks without internet access, thus, making it troublesome to respond to my survey using the anonymous link. Therefore, I attached to my introductory email, a softcopy (word with check boxes) version for people to simple tick off and return. As an option, to collect more responses, I plan to distribute some hardcopy versions as well. My question is therefore: How (if at all possible) do I add the offline (softcopy and hardcopy) responses to my Qualtrics survey analysis? - Is there a way to manually type in the responses to the database? Change in footer post making the survey live

I have created a survey and have collected 20 responses so far. I want to attach a link of a report (made by me) in the footer as an incentive to respondents which will get me more responses. When I click on my survey I get the message: This survey is currently LOCKED to prevent invalidation of collected responses! Please unlock your survey to make changes. If I change the footer now, will that affect the validity of previous responses? How do I prevent this?

Validating text box content to make sure it isn't a non-answer

I have a client that is using Qualtrics as a registration tool. As part of the form they have four text boxes that they want filled out: * Title * Media * Dimensions (height x width x depth) * Price I've gotten validation on Price that I am happy with but could use help with the others: * Title - cannot be na, n/a, NA, N/A, not applicable * Media - cannot be na, n/a, NA, N/A, not applicable or more than 30 characters in length * Dimensions - want to make sure it is [1-99] X [1-99] X [0-99] where it allows decimal places and is checking for three numeric dimensions separated by X or x I know that dimensions might be more easily achieved by breaking it into 3 text boxes. However, I would either have to glue it back together to the format above (which I am blanking on how to do) or make the respondents write it that way. My clients are not computer savvy and cannot handle the three dimensions being in separate columns in the data they view - most are not even comfortable opening an E

Longitudial oberservational research survey

I have created Survey A Baseline and Survey B follow that patients with low back pain will fill in Survey A at treatment 1 then Survey B will be filled out at 2, 6 weeks, 3,6,9,12 months. I also have Survey C, Survey D, Survey E for the practitioners. Survey C will be a one time fill in but Survey D will be filled in at the patients 1s, 2nd, 3rd and 4th visits and Survey E at the end of 12 months. I would like to tie all of this together or automate as much as I can. I believe Survey A and B can be done via creating a contact list then embeding and email then setting a trigger to email at the specified times but not sure how to deal with keeping the practitioners data with the patients data? thanks for any help.

I am always looking for challenging new ideas of things that can be built for the platform. I would love to help make at least some of your wild ideas a reality. I can't promise I will get to all of them, but I will do what I can when I have downtime. Custom question types? Interesting Integrations? Interesting Web Services? Something fun / unique?

Rank order (drag and drop); items displayed in the wrong order

Dear All, I have created a survey using the Rank order type (drag and drop) for all my questions. My problem is that sometimes the order of presentation of the items changes apparently with no reason. Therefore, the items happen to be displayed in a different order. For example, if my items for a question are set in this order: finish, food, water, 1, 3, bear, other, other, other, other, other sometimes these items could be displayed as follows: food, bear, water, 1, 3, finish, other, other, other, other, other At the same time, even if the order of presentation is changed, the items are still ranked in the correct way (see image below). Therefore in my output csv file I get the responses ranked in the correct way. ! The only annoying problem is the order of presentation. Could someone help me with this? Generate Survey Data Dictionary and export to Word

Hi, I'm still new to Qualtrics and testing it for a research project. Is it possible to create a data dictionary in Qualtrics similar to RedCap. Basically a description of all the field (variable) names, field types, possible values, etc. I have tried the below export functionality in Qualtrics but this does not generate the data dictionary ! ! Hello, I was wondering if you know how to customize piped-text responses in Qualtrics so that they appear in uppercase. e.g. if I am asking to provide some initials which I will pipe into questions later, how can I make them always appear in uppercase in the following piped-text questions? Thanks

How to reset the translation percentage (Percent Complete icon)

Is there a way to reset question translation progress? I have an English survey with a Spanish translation added to it (but the translation has not begun). I noticed that in the translation editor (via the Survey/Tools/Translate Survey... option) when I simply click on the text to translate on the Spanish side it automatically changes to progress status even though I have not typed anything different from the English side. I would like to be able to reset the progress so that I remember that this question still needs to be translated.

New to running cross-tabs, several things I can't figure out how to do

How do you run cross-tabs on actual value questions? And how do you add new categories to actual value questions to be used as banner points (e.g., Millennials vs. GenX vs. Boomers)? Also, I need to create Geographic Region groupings from my state drop-down list. Adding groupings (NETS) is generally something I need to do a lot.

Using QR Codes and Anonymous Survey Links

Has anyone distributed their survey as an anonymous link embedded in a QR code AND in a Vanity URL? If so, how did you set the survey options for "Save and Continue" and "Partial Completion"? For my survey, there is the possibility that a respondent would want to take the survey several times if they made multiple visits to the location where the printed QR code and survey URL will be positioned. If I select "Save and Continue", if a respondent accesses the survey via the QR code, but does not complete the survey, the next time they access the survey (either to complete the survey they had started by using the Vanity URL or on a subsequent visit to the location they want to take another survey to give new feedback ) it will open to where they left off (unless Partial Completion is set to a day or less). If I don't select "Save and Continue", if a respondent does not complete the survey and accesses it again with the same device, there will be more than one response, possibly for th

Paragraph Formatting

I'm using a "Text Entry", "essay" style question to allow users to provide their justification for their proposal. My intent is to allow them to write as many sentences as they feel are necessary - like an essay. However, when i use the piped text function to pass the info to the next survey the formatting does not remain in effect. It all becomes just one long string, no paragraph breaks or bullet points. suggestions? Thanks
