Send distribution message to contact list with embedded data

I have two embedded data points called Number of Sessions and Hours that I want to include in a distribution email to my contacts (w/o the survey link). Each time I do a test email, the email shows ${e://Field/Number%20of%20Sessions} and ${e://Field/Hours}, but not the actual data.
