Hi I need a way to combine multiple numeric variables in order to generate a pie chart widget. For instance. I have questions where respondents have entered numeric values. I would like to display a pie chart that shows the weight of the sum of each category. I know that pie chart widgets only take in one variable, but I saw a use case where someone was able to do this so I am wondering how to accomplish this. Do I need to make sort of custom field or custom variable? I am new to Qualtrics and am open to any solution type.

Thanks for the clarity. For this, you can use the Measure groups.
Go to settings→ dashboard data→ Add Field Group →Assign a name
Then, add all your categories one by one. Hit the save button.
Add the pie chart widget, select the count metric, and in the dimension select the new field group you created.

What sort of custom field should I create? The pie chart widget seems compatible with only a few variable types, and I am not sure how to customize the field. To clarify, my survey uses sliders to collect numeric data for various categories. I am wanting to visualize this numeric data as a pie chart, but am unsure how. I would ideally want a pie chart that shows which percent of the sum each category’s value represents, but the pie charts seem incompatible with the way my data were collected. I am wondering how I can adjust the data to be able to use the pie chart visualization.

+1Thank you! This worked. The only thing is that because the fields in my Measure Groups were already custom fields created for the survey to aggregate subcategories, I had to use the SUM metric instead of the COUNT metric.
