Hiding Statement Numbers in a Qualtrics Matrix Table

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

Hello everyone,

I am working with a Matrix Table in Qualtrics that contains 15 statements, each rated on a Likert scale (1-5). For data analysis purposes, I have numbered these statements (1-15). However, I need to hide these numbers from participants while keeping them intact for backend analysis.

For example, a statement currently appears as:
“12. My desire to perform to the best of my ability.”

I would like to remove the number ("12.") from the participant’s view but retain it for data processing. I have attempted various JavaScript solutions within the Matrix Table but have not had success.

Would anyone be able to advise on how to achieve this in Qualtrics, either using JavaScript or another method?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi. Have you tried modifying the Question export tags in the Recode values menu? If you write the statements without the line numbers in the survey builder, you can add the numbers here instead, and they will only appear when you export the data.

By default, Qualtrics has recode values. You can use that for analysis instead of having the numbers in the statements.
