Email trigger vs Email Task
+27What is the difference between Email trigger and Email Task? As far as I can see, they are exactly the same? Are there cases in which you'd be more likely to use the one vs the other?

I've asked myself the same question...
The way I see it an Email Task is an Email trigger on steroids. I have not yet found a case where I would prefer Email trigger over Email Task.
I think the fact that both of these are alive is mostly historic - Email Tasks are relatively recent, while Email triggers have been around for quite a while. With the introduction of the Actions tab, however, Email triggers are largely obsolete.
Almost the same is starting to apply for Contact list triggers but I have still found some cases where they are useful.
