Hello,

I've been browsing the support pages on calculating totals and scores, but I haven't found any information on how to calculate simple averages, both across all participants and for individual participants, in a survey. I know I can do this in Excel using the AVERAGE formula, but I'd like to know if Qualtrics can calculate these averages for me so that they're already included when I export the file to Excel.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I assume you’re referring to Excel files generated by Data Exports?

While it’s not possible to generate averages across participants (column averages), you can use Custom Formula Fields to calculate them within participants (row averages, like for a series of quiz scores).
