How to set embeded data in bulk? | XM Community
Skip to main content

I have set up a drill down question as below to have the respondents select the provinces and cities they currently live in.

Then I need to set embedded data for each city to record the city tier.

The problem is that I have hundreds of cities on the list, and manually typing them in could lead to errors and is also quite troublesome. Is there anyway to simplfy this process? Thanks!

Perhaps you can consider using Supplemental Data Source.

In your supplemental data, you can have 2 columns for city and city tier.

Use city for referencing, then get the embedded data through city tier.

@Elaine.Li @Chee Heng_SZ ,

This is exactly what our bulk embedded data generator was built for! 🎯

Setting up embedded data  for city tiers manually would be incredibly tedious with all those province/city combinations.

Here's how you can solve this quickly:

  1. Create a CSV with your city mappings:
City,CityTier
Toronto,Tier1
Vancouver,Tier1
Calgary,Tier2
... etc
  1. Use our Chrome extension to bulk generate the embedded data setup: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/qualtrics-embedded-data-g/fkkmlmjhiehciaaodjghecnjojendgfo
  2. It'll create all the embedded data fields and logic automatically instead of setting up each city tier manually.

The extension handles:

  • Bulk embedded data creation
  • Validation of your mapping data
  • Proper formatting for Qualtrics import

Visit Other Free Tools Command Center: https://piraiai.com/qualtrics-toolkit
1) Converting QSF files back to Excel workbook for analysis
2) Validate Supplemental Data Sources for Qualtrics. Compare CSV files with up to 100K rows, find duplicates, and ensure perfect data matching.
3) Generating embedded data setups faster

Should save you hours compared to manual setup. Let me know if you need any help with the CSV format or setup process!
