Is it possible to create an editable table in a survey? | XM Community

We currently have respondents upload an Excel document with a long list of contacts in it.  I’m researching if it’s possible to have them copy and paste that list directly into the survey somewhere.  The template we provide has 9 headers/columns and can contain a minimum of 16 rows, up to sometimes, but rarely, 15000 rows.

Based on my research, here’s what I’ve already tried and why it doesn’t work for our use-case:

  • Using the side by side question type: not enough rows.
  • Embedding an editable HTML table: doesn’t allow users to copy and paste whole columns of information at a time.
  • Embedding an Excel document: does not save the data that’s been inputted.

Are there any other options that I’m missing or is this just beyond the capability of Qualtrics?

Hi,

This is difficult in Qualtrics as the text input limit is 20,000 characters so that would be a limitation. Even if the columns are copy pasted in direct open ended question it will lose the formatting. You would have to upload the excel file.
