What is the reserved "EmbeddedData" embedded data field? | XM Community

The survey flow lets us add an embedded data field called “EmbeddedData” but it comes back empty. Is this a legacy field? Or is there a way to use it that I don’t know about? It isn’t listed on the Embedded Data support page either.

​@jb_lumanity Please try raising a Qualtrics support ticket. Also do you have any specific use case about this?

​@omkarkewat No I have no use case because I don’t know what it is used for. I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was for and if there were ways to use it

​@jb_lumanity : I think it’s reserved and can’t be used. Hence it’s coming back as empty. Someone from Qualtrics team can tell us better.

The Embedded Data field "EmbeddedData" appears to be used to retrieve list embedded data. For example, if a contact has 4 embedded data fields and the entire list contains 10 fields, this Embedded Data field will display the total number of embedded data fields in the contact list. It is reserved for the API, which is why it remains empty when added directly in the survey flow.
