Change visualization on Pick, group and Rank question

what you are looking for is quite complicated. The problem is that for the Pick and Group question, the container is structured as a table, with the choices as one column and the group as another. So, you'll basically need to convert them into rows. Then you'll have to create cells for each answer choice and then ensure that your box spans across those cells. Plus you are using carry forward choices.
If the only problem is the visibility of the box then take a look at this and this. They should be able to solve your problem.

Maybe look at Matrix with multiple choices. So that people can tick the groups each statement falls into.

You may be able to accomplish something close to what you are trying to achieve by combining a multiple answer multiple choice (changing the settings on the right to "Column" or changing it to horizontal)
Then, use carry forward on the selected choices to the next question which you can set up as a Rank Order.
Essentially, you splitting the "picking" and "ranking" parts into two separate questions.
