Hi, I have a question about how to set non-substantive response options like ‘don’t know’ or ‘unknown’ in a “select all that apply” multiple choice question, is there a way to make these response “exclusive” so if ‘don’t know’ or ‘unknown’ is selected, none of the other options in the list would be selected?

For example:

What are your favorite color(s)? Select all that apply.

Red

Blue

Orange

Don’t Know

If Blue and Red are selected, Don’t Know can never be selected.

Suggestions?

We can use  mutually exclusive option for this. But are you asking if the user first needs to unselect the don’ know and only then other options should be allowed to be selected?
