Advice on setting up a time survey/diary of respondent activities during the day?

Hello, Im hoping to find the best way to have respondents be able to capture how they spent their day at work. I have a list of high-level activities and tasks associated with those activities, but am also needing to capture when they competed those activities. I was hoping to use a drill down type question so respondents could choose (1) Activity (2) Task (3) Begin time (4) End time, however, there are too many selection combinations for a drill down question (the max is 10,000, but I would have many more than that)! Any advice/ideas from the community on how best to set up a survey like this? Thanks in advance!
