Position Overview
The University of Minnesota, Office of Measurement Services seeks a Survey Researcher to manage all aspects of complex online survey research projects, including consulting with clients, providing project management, programming and administering surveys in Qualtrics, conducting data analysis, and reporting on results. This position serves as a back-up to our student rating of teaching software brand administrator by effectively executing day-to-day operations when needed. This position performs a multi-faceted role to maintain and improve upon the University’s use of enterprise survey software, which includes responsibilities pertaining to software administration and technical support.
This position plays an integral role in supporting the University’s mission of education, research, and community outreach. Specific impacts include higher education student success, student engagement, campus climate, mental health, wellness, student affairs, post-graduation outcomes, student rating of teaching, and other various issues of interest to academic research studies, such as public health, public policy, oncology, obesity, pandemic response, opioid, and marijuana policy enforcement, telehealth, alcohol, tobacco, food justice, obstetrics and gynecology, diversity, equity and inclusion, dentistry, and grief and other topics.

Salary range: $67,700 - $75,000, DOQ

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Survey Research: Project Management, Consulting, and Analysis 60%
- Manages all aspects of complex online survey projects for clients internal and external to the University.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, gathering project requirements and creating estimates, and managing all aspects of the project budget and preparing invoices.
- Programs and tests complex surveys in Qualtrics with advanced logic, embedded data, workflows, and other multifaceted requirements.
- Explores and implements creative solutions to meet project needs, such as custom coding (e.g., javascript, CSS) or integrations with other data systems (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau).
- Manages contact data in the Qualtrics directory and creates customized dashboards for various stakeholders.
- Recommends analysis and reports based on goals and objectives.
- Uses software to convert files or conduct data analysis in SPSS, Excel, or Tableau. Interprets analysis, consults clients on data usage, and composes technical reports, executive summaries, or presentations of analysis.
- Provides technical expertise to the OMS Survey Services team to improve survey quality through shared learning, establishing best practices, cross-training staff, and documenting procedures.
Qualtrics Brand Administrator 30%
- Gathers business needs and offers strategic insights to inform the product roadmap, work with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to implement new features and procedures, and communicate with users.
- Leverages technical expertise to provide input on vendor performance, evaluate product features, and support the Tier 3 support team by helping to resolve Qualtrics support tickets.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with survey software account representatives, UMN Qualtrics users, and the broader Qualtrics user community.
- Maintains and creates content for the UMN OIT Qualtrics Webpages to provide educational resources and self-help guides relating to survey and Qualtrics best practices for researchers enterprise-wide.
- Develops mechanisms to capture and address specific inquiries from users related to training, trouble-shooting, and product or feature requests.
Student Rating of Teaching Program Support 10%
- Assists with launching surveys and reports for early term and mid term assessments (system wide and unit requests).
- Helps maintain surveys, email content, documentation, Departmental Contact lists, and customization specification records.
- Intakes customization projects - gathers requirements, determines project scope, timeline, cost. Manages and executes agreed upon deliverables.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications (please document on your resume):
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant experiences that includes project management, analytics, experience management, or survey research
- Experience with complex Qualtrics programming, distribution, and reporting
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates a commitment to working in a team environment
- Experience with Javascript, HTML, or CSS
