Highlight missed questions other than request response | XM Community
Skip to main content

Hi all!

My survey consists of multiple choice questions, matrix tables, and open text answers. The first two are forced responses and I really like how if you try to move on without answering them it 1) identifies which question still needs an answer, and 2) shows the warning text above said question.

My problem is: I want my open text answers to not be force responses. However, when my participant tries to move on to the next page without answering one, I want a prompt to show that says they’ve missed this question and to answer if they wish to, and highlight which question it is like force response does.

I don’t really like the way the request response box comes up if I use this option. Are there alternative options to highlight that they’ve missed a question but not force it? Ideally, I want the exact same thing that forced response does but allow them to move on if they choose to not fill in an answer.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Hello @Claire20,

Force Response & Request Response these are the two built-in features which you can use for forcing or alerting customers to answer a question. i would suggest you to go with ‘Request Response’ option itself as its a built-in feature. if you dont want to use this then you can try with Javascripts.
