I'm a qualtrics newbie (15 years of other software experience) and would appreciate any help I can receive on the following issue (happy to hire part-time consultants as well): 1. We are advertising our survey with unique codes (9 digits; #s/letters) 2. We have over 2 million unique codes 3. We would like to have participants enter code, and if already used or invalid participant can't move forward 4. If valid code entered they move forward 5. We were able to use javascript to make this functional with a small set of codes (20) but are worried this may be an issue when all 2 million are entered. Is API request the way to go here, or any other solutions? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Is it possible to hide empty embedded data in an email invite, the data will be piped in from a contact list. I would like to send email invites that display a table, but only display specific rows. If a row is empty contains no data hide the row so it does not appear in the received message. Some people may have 1 row of data and others contain 15 data rows.

Hello everyone, I hope you can help me program the following study: I want to program the classic Wason Rule Discovery Task to assess confirmation bias (Wason, 1960; for an example, see https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/07/03/upshot/a-quick-puzzle-to-test-your-problem-solving.html?searchResultPosition=2). I’m not sure how to do this and whether it is even possible in Qualtrics. All the help is appreciated! In the original study, participants were presented with a series of three numbers (e.g., 2,4,6) and told that the series of numbers conform to a certain rule. Participants were instructed to discover this rule by writing down sets of three numbers. After writing down each set, participants were informed whether the series of numbers that were written down confirmed the rule or not. Hi everyone, I'm working on a survey and am hoping that I might be able to find a way to have subjects provide text answers to a few questions (such as: "list the three people you are closest with"), and then use the answers they give in a later question to customize the question based on their earlier response (ex. "would you rather spend time with X or Y?" with X and Y being previously generated individuals), thus giving a tighter control over variability in the study. Is this possible, and if so, any idea how to go about it? I've been looking around to see if there's any advice on doing this but have had trouble finding something that sounds similar. I'm thinking it might require Java or Python, neither of which I'm familiar with, so I'm hoping maybe it's a simple solution. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks

Hello, I have a question concerning the code for sending a link to a survey, found at; https://api.qualtrics.com/docs/code-to-send-sms-or-email-1. In my requirement, I need to pass piped text via the api to the customized email message; https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/distributions-module/email-distribution/emails-overview/. What I'd like to do is pass the value for a work order to the survey's url, and then email the survey to the recipient list. The instructions for the sending a survey via email don't elaborate on this. Can what I need be done via the api/python?

I know it's not possible out of the box, but I am trying to come up with a way to "score" my questions in my survey, all of which are ranked, and all of which have the exact same answers. There are about 10 questions, and each question has the exact same 8 responses, and I want to be able to "score" them. For example, let's say the 8 responses are A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. If for question 1, the user ranks A first, I could assign 8 "points" to category A. Then in question 2, maybe the rank category A second, and I would add 7 points to category A. Does anyone have any idea how I might go about achieving this? I am a software engineer and I do have some Javascript development experience, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this with Qualtrics. Would i store this information in the embedded data and then pass it to some node.js server to do the computations and direct the "results" screen to a webpage hosted by that server? is there an easier way to do this? Hi there, In our survey, we want to predict the choices of our participants based on their earlier responses, and then display either one of two blocks based on this prediction. In the past we have done this via linear regression: In the survey flow, we could set embedded data to, for example: p = 0.5 + 0.3 * [score of participant in question 1] - 0.7 * [score of participant in scale 2] ….. + 0.4 * [score of participant in question 8] And then we use branch logic: e.g. if p > 0, the participant sees block A, if p < 0, the participant sees block B. See screenshot below: ! Now we want to use more complicated machine learning algorithms (probably random forest) rather than a logistic regression. The problem is that this can’t really be implemented via survey flow (you would need something like a 1000 if-then statements which is not really practical). Platform: iOS I'm looking at using Qualtrics, and as per what i have read up the iOS app just checks the intercepts and the framework displays the survey/feedback questions in its own view(maybe a webview/hybrid). - I'm wondering if it is possible to get the survery questions via an api and the application can show the questions natively with a custom UI ? - Is there any sample code in this direction ?

I want to set up a branch in the survey flow where a certain block only shows if participants are 18 at the time of starting the survey. I have DOB as an embedded data. How would I set up the age calculation for current date minus DOB?

Need a question where I calculate age from date of birth. I was using a date picker but it was too complicated when I've got to translate it into four languages with limited javascript knowledge. I am therefore currently using a side by side question with three text inputs for dd, mm and yyyy. This is the code I have so far to calculate the age but it is not working. I am looking for help with creating validation for a custom code that will be alpha numeric. Multiple choice question with 3 repsonse allowing text entry is currently being used, but a side-by side with 3 text entry options is another question type we looked at. Their will be three codes will be unique for each for each respondent and they will be a combinations of letters and numbers that identify the session, product and variety that the respondent is testing. For example, a code might look like 1A.1.1A.11A first set, 22 possible coded, 1 or 2 A-K 2nd set codes 1-9 3rd set 1-34 4th set A-D 5th set TBD, but also some combination of numbers or letters) Each piece of the code means something different and we'ld also like to tie that to some embedded data for later classification How do I create validation that would check to ensure that the code is being entered correctly? Do periods work if entered to separate the codes? HELP!

Hello, I have a question, "How old are you today?" that is set as numeric type. On mobile devices, I want the text field to bring up the telephone keyboard so it is easy to type in numbers. I currently have this in the js: `jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").attr('type', 'tel');` This works - I am shown just a number keypad when I focus on this field. Problem is that the field on mobile no longer obeys the 60px width setting (desktop still shows a 60px field). I do not want a full-width field for a 2-digit input. Can someone please help me tell Qualtrics to keep this field 60px wide? !

I am using the Qualtrics library/Demographics/Calendar & Date Questions/select a date with the drop down menu question in the survey but I want to change the year options to 1860 to 2010 (rather than 1900-2049. When I change the JS values nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to have a date drop down question with 1860-2010 range for the year variable?

As part of my study I need to present graphics to participants. Due to their nature I needed more space on the page where questions were displayed. AS such I have looked to some solutions for this and managed to add the followings CSS code: @media only screen and (min-width: 1200px) { #Questions{min-width:1200px;} .Skin .SkinInner {min-width: 1200px!important;} } This has successfully expanded the area in which questions and graphics can be displayed, however the "next button" seems to be lagging behind. I have searched, but can't find how to alter the horizontal position of the "next button". Please can someone offer some guidance? I have attached some screenshots of the issue.
