Dashboard no longer visible following user type change

We recently had to change the user type of some historical users. Since this change these users are no longer able to see the dashboard. Initially I thought this was due to the user type they shifted too, however this is not the case.

Has anyone experienced this before?

I’ve played around with it a bit and it seems any change to user type is causing these users to loose access to the dashboard.

My initial thoughts are that maybe this is a historical issue, as these users have been set up in Qualtrics since 2020? Open to ideas as to what is causing this.

Hi @ccarroll there have been changes to the user types and dashboard access. I started adding users in 2019, so you can go to the dashboard level and adjust the user setting there. There is a sort of hierarchy access for users. The user type, division, and dashboard levels that can cause conflict too. My fix has been setting access by the dashboard level. I had the opposite of your issue. I had users, that had all access to dashboards to view, export, share, etc.

Hi @ccarroll ,

You may wish to look at the individual permissions enabled for these users.

Perhaps these users previously had unique permissions enabled for them while the user type don’t have those permissions.

When you change the user type permissions, the individual permissions may have been overwritten.

Thank you for the response @Chee Heng_SZ

I did wonder if this could be it, so I tried elevating their user access during testing to the highest level we have but it did not work sadly.

Hi @ccarroll ,

After elevating to the highest level, did you check again on the dashboard project’s sharing setting to see if the user’s information is still there or required to share with them again?

@Chee Heng_SZ the user information has consistently remained there, but when you log into their account the dashboard is not there. It’s very strange.

The only fix that has worked, has been to unshare the dashboard and re-share.

Thank you @StephB, I believe this is what has caused the issue, with conflicts between user types and division access.

If I could find a way to make my dashboard available to anyone that logged in I’d be happy - any tips to replicate this?
