New embedded data field created in theme in survey doesn't show up

Hello together,In my theme in the Header I added this code. Using Javascript to save embedded variables within survey

Hello everyone! This time last year, I asked a question about using Javascript to save selections from a multiple choice question as separate variable. I got some great suggestions and the survey worked like a dream. JS to set embedded variables not saving on page submitThe tricky part was that I needed those variables to work on the very next page. Need javascript code for highlighting unanswered row of matrix question

I have a matrix question with two columns. Respondents are asked to rate messages on a five-point Likert scale on clarity and credibility. Client wants unanswered, forced rows to be boxed or highlighted to call attn to what was missed. Willing to pay for the code.

How can I adjust the size of the graphics in my maxdiff survey for Google Pixel phones?

I am currently working on a MaxDiff survey and the images are showing up just fine when I take the survey on my iPhone, but when my coworker takes the survey on his Google Pixel (using chrome browser) the images show up much smaller. Is there a way to use custom code to adjust the image size for the Google Pixel without messing up how it looks for other devices? (screenshots below) I have only used custom code one other time- so if you are able to help please explain in detail how I would implement the code as well. Thanks so much! Eliza

JavaScript in Qualtrics survey works in preview but not for respondents

I modified a JavaScript code in one of my survey questions to randomly generate scenario numbers for each respondent. This script assigns different combinations of investment percentages for each respondent. For example:- Respondent 1 might see a breakdown like: 50% ETFs, 50% gold.- Respondent 2 might see: 40% gold, 60% individual stocks.Each respondent is shown a total of four different scenarios, each of which adds up to 100%. Each scenario is randomly generated.Here’s the main issue: while the script works correctly in preview mode, showing unique combinations of percentages and instruments each time, it does not work for actual respondents taking the survey. Instead, the scenarios appear only as bullet points without the specified combinations. I’ve attached screenshots from both the preview (working correctly) and the actual survey (showing only bullet points) for reference. I also attach both the question and javascript. Would anyone be able to help or has experience with this?

How do I widen the responsive dialogue box?

I need to widen my responsive dialogue box so that my full matrix questions appear in the box without having to scroll right. I tried some CSS, but I’m not confident in my CSS. Any suggestions? I also selected “Automatically resize dialog to fit your survey” but it doesn’t widen enough for my Matrix question.

Autoadvance clearTimeout not working

I tried to use this code to set up a question that autoadvances either after 8 seconds or when a response is chosen. Unfortunately, the clearTimeout isn’t working. Block columns on Side by Side question based on previous column answers

I have a Side by Side question as shown below. Do y’all know how I make it so that ‘Cannot rate’ (column 9) is the only selection that can be made if ‘Not started’ (column 1) is selected? I tried to mirror in some way the JavaScript shown in the answer in the post below, but I cannot figure out how to get it to work.

How to use Javascript and embedded data to store data from a checkbox added using html?

I have added a couple of checkboxes throughout my survey (Simple layout) using the html code <input type="checkbox">.I have added print screens of a couple of examples below:Example 1: Checkboxes to indicate why a particular section of questions is not relevant for the respondent to complete:Example 2: Check box after a statement on a matrix table question to indicate that the particular statement is not relevant to the respondent: I need these checkboxes to record data. From searching the community posts I can see I need to use Javascript to store the checkbox status in an embedded data. However I am a complete noob and have never used Javascript or Embedded data before. Is anyone able to help me with how I do this? Thanks so much!

Hiding Questions Based on Loop and Merge Values in Qualtrics

Hello Qualtrics Community!I’m currently working on a survey in Qualtrics that involves Loop and Merge functionality, and I'm trying to conditionally hide a question based on the value of a Loop and Merge field. Distribution API return different list

Hi Community,We are using API to get response status and remind/resend survey for a very large distribution batch regularly, the testing batch contain 20968 contact.We firstly use List Distribution Links and get the right amount of 20968, however, this API will return status “Email Not Sent” only.Then we use List Distribution History but only get 20540 result. Why is there a difference? How can we get status of all 20968 distribution in that batch

Is it possible to record the reaction time and what key was pressed for a word typing task? And also to do this in Mandarin

The idea of the task that I am trying to create is that the participant is presented with with a sentence that contains a root word e.g. “The teach taught her students”. The participant is then to complete the sentence by in this case adding a suffix to the word teach and turning it into “teacher”. The issue I am having, is making it so that Qualtrics record the letters typed and the reaction time of each letter. Furthermore, to make things even more complicated, I also want a separate version of this task, that is in Mandarin.  Is this even possible through Qualtrics? If not, I’d be grateful for any other ideal software.

Star Slider: place question above the stars

Hi, I'm looking for a way to ask long questions in combination with a star slider. Standard; the space for the text is very limited, so if you type a long question it appears on many lines. I found this: https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/comment/3133#Comment_3133 that works great on desktop to combine long questions with the star slider; however on mobile it becomes completely unusable. So I thought, maybe a solution would be to make the question text appear above the stars, instead of next to them. Is there a way to do that? Thanks, Joyca

Multiple choice after custome code for text entry

Hello, I would like a question with 3 MC options:Standard MC option 1 Standard MC option 2 $ xx per saleWhere xx is a text entry box with text either side (‘$’ to the left of the box, ‘per sale’ on the right of the box). How to compare dates in Qualtrics

So, you want to compare today's date to a date entered in a response. Or you want to know if the date entered is more than one month from today. Or compare the start date to the end date entered to ensure they didn't mistakenly put in a wrong date. It's all about validation. Qualtrics can do this natively IF the dates entered are all the exact same format. In survey flow I created a few embedded data fields to hold some data1.     Is today’s date – the date the respondent is filling out your survey2.     Tomorrow shows how to increment by one day. NOTE: %20 is html for a space3.     Thirty days from now adds thirty days to today’s date4.     Thirty days ago subtracts 30 days from today’s dateI can show the data...I can even ask for a date input (has to match the format)And then I can do a comparison between what was input and what I already have to control my display logic.My only issue/problem to solve now is how can I force the proper format needed (mm/dd/yyyy - with NO leading

I use auto advance in some questions and my survey keeps auto advancing in the following questions

Hi!I have 4 questions in one block, separated into 3 pages. I want to auto-advance, but for some reason it keeps auto-advancing in the following block (for which I added no code).The first question has its own page and I want it to auto-advance after the participant choses an option or after 6 seconds. How to use stimuli that were used in the loop of the previous block?

Dear all,I'm conducting an experiment where participants compare two individuals (A and B) in each round and make some decisions. I have a total of 1,225 pairs of A and B, and participants will make three different decisions in three blocks (e.g., splitting money, taking money, etc.). Clearly, it is impossible for the same participant to evaluate all pairs. Therefore, in the first task, which is the first block, I used Loop & Merge, placing all A in field1 and all B in field2, randomly selecting 30 rows, and referencing them in the questions using piped text, presenting one pair at a time, as shown in the image below:Since I need to perform three different tasks in three separate blocks, I am now facing the issue of how to reference the same 30 pairs of A and B in the subsequent blocks (blocks 2 and 3). Ideally, I would like to randomize the order in the later blocks as well. However, if that is not possible, I can accept maintaining the same order as in block 1. What is essential

Pop-up multiple choice question within a side-by-side question

On a side by side question, is it possible to embed a pop-up question within the side-by side question?e.g. something like this - where the respondent clicks on “Please Answer” and they are then shown a pop-up multi-choice question (modal?). Use images instead of responses in multiple response question

For a multi-select multiple choice question I would like to show images instead of responses, the idea in my head being that it will sort of resemble the app icons on a phone.I have put the images in the choice text but am not able to hide the checkboxes despite trying a number of methods, the following being one of them:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function() {    var questionContainer = this.getQuestionContainer();    jquery(thisquestion).find("input[type=checkbox]").hide(); });Another big question - right now clicking on the image will check the box but will it do that if box is hidden?Bonus points - I’d love to outline the images when selected (and remove if clicked again).  Right now there’s a blue background on click but it’s not as clean as what I’d like to see. Thank you for any input!

Get responses to align with the QIDs from List of Questions to Response Details

I am trying to create a basic data model that is ingested into Snowflake for a table that has a list of questions by survey id - which I am able to transform the data from this https://yul1.qualtrics.com/API/v3/survey-definitions/{surveyId}/questionsBut the QID from the this output is not how you do the the QID in GET Response Details.   How can I get a simple extract to create this type of file.   It’s such a mess to get a things to match as indentifiers in this jumbled response APIs.surveyId, responseId, QID, valueabc, R_1234,QID1,<feedback input from customer>BTW - I use Workato to do the transformation and upsert into Snowflake.
