Is it possible to retrieve participants' Person ID in advance? | XM Community

Hi community,

I hope you're doing well. I’d like to know if there’s a way to retrieve the Person ID of each participant in advance, either through an API or any other method that allows us to access this information before downloading a project distribution in Employee Experience.

As far as I know, the Person ID, which is unique for each employee, is displayed when downloading the project distribution. However, I’m looking for an alternative to extract this information beforehand.

I’d appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can share.

Thank you in advance!

Hi @YenMejia_Voce ,

I hope you’re doing well!

I was wondering if you were able to get the person ID earlier. If so, would you mind sharing how you went about it? I am running into a similar issue and could use some guidance.

Thanks so much!

Why do you need this personId. May be you can export from directory contacts?

I am looking for ways to generate a unique link per employee for those working in the field to identify who is completing the survey. This is necessary because, due to confidentiality policies in the organization, the authenticator is not functional, and we need a direct way to identify the participants.

The only solution I have found so far is to send a distribution from an Engagement or Life Cycle project. Since these individuals do not have registered email addresses, they are assigned fictitious emails that inevitably bounce back. By downloading the distribution, we can access the person ID, but this process involves a significant operational workload.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to export this information directly from the global employee directory, which makes it challenging to access the data in advance. Therefore, I would like to know if there is a more efficient way to obtain the person ID or if you could recommend an alternative solution.
