Hello everybody,

 

We are surveying new employees in their onboarding period with several surveys and we have build dashboards to keep track of the results. Every new employees receive a survey after the 1st week, and we also have other metadata fields to help us describe our sample (country, division, etc). We want to use that data for demographics purposes, e.g. to know how many new hires we had in a time period.

 

Is there a way to track in the dashboard the number of people who have been added to this survey’s project? I would want to display how many people in total were added to the project, rather than the participation rate that shows how many people answered the survey.

To track the total number of people imported (invited) into your survey project, you need to rely on the participant list metadata, not the response data.

 

Key Steps to Track Total Participants

 

  1. Maintain Accurate Participant Data: Ensure your participant import files are accurate and regularly updated to reflect all additions to the project.

  2. Dashboard Widget: Create a simple Number Chart widget in your dashboard.

  3. Metric Selection: Base the widget's metric on the Participant List Metadata. You want to show the count of unique participants in the project, not the count of submitted responses.

  4. Metadata for Breakdowns: To track total participants by demographics (e.g., country or division), ensure these fields are included in your import file. You can then use the widget's breakdown feature to segment the total count.

Summary: The system already counts participants based on the participant list, regardless of response. By basing a Number Chart widget on this participant data, you can track the total sample size over time.
