Welcome again to the Higher Ed Community Group

We are so excited to meet everyone and can't wait to see all of the new connections made here.

If you're new to the Higher Ed Group, be sure to introduce yourself on this post.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, your role, where you're located, and what you use Qualtrics for on your campus.
If you want, you can even share some of your hobbies, a cool Qualtrics project you've been working on, or anything else you think the rest of the community would be interested in.
Happy to meet all of you! 🎉

Greetings!
I'm Rich McGee, at California State University, San Bernardino. I'm the primary Brand Admin at my campus, and the default "How do I do this using Qualtrics?" go-to person at my campus. I've been here since 1981 (!) as a student, grad student, instructor, and staff member. Most recently, I integrated Qualtrics with our Shibboleth SSO system, so now I'm busy showing our user community how to dynamically extract the SSO metadata to use within their surveys. We have slightly more than 2000 users, and have generated more than 580,000 responses in the past year. Sadly, we are only licensed for the base XM platform, but I can dream, can't I?

Hello,
I'm Heather McKim and I have just joined the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness at the University of Northern Colorado, in the role of data scientist. I used Qualtrics for surveys and course evaluations at my previous job as an IR director at a different institution. Right now I'm trying to get caught up on how Qualtrics is implemented at my new job, because it is a bit different than how we used it at my former institution.

Hello everyone
I'm Laurence and I head the Quality Management team at HWZ, a business school in Zurich (Switzerland).
We just launched Qualtrics for course evaluations in the Bachelor and Master programs.
If any of you are using Qualtrics at a HEI in Germany, Switzerland or Austria, please get in touch with me. I am very keen to talk to you personally.

Winterly greetings from Switzerland⛄️

Hello everyone! I’m Rebecca. So happy to be accepted into this group!😃

I work in a small Higher Education provider in the UK called the Tavistock and Portman - we offer postgrad courses in mental health and social work mainly.

We switched to Qualtrics nearly a year ago, and creating the surveys is nice and simple, but using the analysis and reporting tools we’re struggling with!

We use it for our annual student satisfaction survey and have just started using it for a mid-year survey too. We’d like to get to the point (before June ideally!) where we can live-report on survey data to course teams and management.

We’re also planning to develop a much more complex pre-arrival survey where we want to automate different emails to students based on their responses in the survey (e.g. if they’re worried about assessment, send them an email with resources for assessment included etc.).

Hi! I’m Stephanie Obodda and I work in Brown University’s IT department, where I’m the assistant director of IT User Experience Strategy. I use Qualtrics for UX research purposes and for my department’s administrative needs, and I’ve also been the Qualtrics admin since we first purchased our license around 2014/15. I love finding not-so-obvious uses for Qualtrics - I think my favorite was using an authenticator and contact list to let students anonymously look up a piece of information. Looking forward to getting to know more of my higher ed colleagues!

Hello everyone - I found this group after Brooke Leech invited me to the User Group session next week. I am Kristi Chastain and I am a Data Analyst with University System of Georgia eCampus.

eCampus is a collaborative program of the University System of Georgia that facilitates the development and delivery of high-quality, affordable, and accessible online learning experiences while also supporting strategic system-level initiatives to enrich students’ lives and enhance the economic, cultural, and social interests of Georgia. This is primarily accomplished through our major projects of eCore (online core curriculum courses), eMajor (fully online degree programs) and affiliations with the Georgia Film Academy and USG Goes Global (a collaborative study abroad program offered each summer). However, we are not an accredited institution and we do not admit students. We are a service arm of the system, providing these services on behalf of the institutions that make up the University System of Georgia. Students from institutions throughout the system can register for the classes we develop and administer, but they are still students at their respective university.

Our data team is responsible for supporting the data-driven initiatives of eCampus, including data engineering, data workflows, survey administration and research, applied research projects, predictive analytics, report writing, learning analytics, dashboard, design, etc.. We are currently a 2-person team (me and my manager, Joe Fernander, our Data Scientist and Learning Analyst) with 3 graduate assistants. We are in the process of hiring a 3rd full-time data analyst.

We use Qualtrics for the bulk of our survey work, including course evaluations, prospective student outreach, withdrawal surveys, service feedback/satisfaction surveys (librarians, tutors, help desk, etc.), as well as faculty evaluation surveys (both self evaluations and performance evaluations from our Deans).

I hold a B.S. in Computer Science, an MBA (both from University of West Georgia), and a certificate in Data Analytics & Intelligent Technology from Kennesaw State University. In addition, I am a Certified Tableau Desktop Specialist and a Qualtrics Core XM Expert.

I am happy to have found this group and look forward to collaborating with you.
