Add Total as last item of the first column for side by side question

I have the below side by side question. How do I add Total as last item of the first column and without displaying a radio button for this Total item on the second column? I also want to display the Total as respondent enters a number. Thank you!

This would require JS for which we can use the code from here with some modifications.

I am just a beginner to learn JS so I am not sure how to modify the codes here . I tried but the last radio button on the 2nd column is still there and the Total is not displaying anything. Please help! Thank you!
