Calculate when surveys are opened/completed on average.

Our organization is sending surveys to patients after their visit with us, and if they don’t open it after 5 days we send them a reminder. We’re currently weighing whether or not it is worth it to send these reminders.

Is there a way I can calculate, on average, how many days after sending a survey people are opening (or completing) them? Are there any other good ways to try and calculate this type of data?

This should be possible using the Respondent Funnel.

XM Directory Respondent Funnel (qualtrics.com)

I tried doing this with the Respondent Funnel but I wasn’t feeling terribly confident with the results -- With over 1mil surveys distributed over the course of 18 months, it said only 60 had ever been opened as the result of a reminder, and 40 of them took place in the last month. We’ve had Reminders on for far longer than that.

You could a tracking pixel to the first page of the survey, which would let you know each time they open the survey.
