Remove parameters from a failed Salesforce sync? | XM Community

Hello and good afternoon from a sunny Sweden!

I have a survey questionnaire that originates with a Single Sign On on our corporate webpage, so the questionnaire comes loaded with things like customer id, account id etc. etc.

Upon submitting the questionnaire there is a workflow that both triggers and email to the responder, and also syncs the response back to the user in Salesforce.

However, due to some internal changes to our Salesforce instance, the account id is no longer correct which makes the sync to Salesforce fail.

Is there any way I can tweak the responses that have come in already, so that the account id is no longer part of the response? I would like to just remove the account id, and then press “Retry” under the failed sync in the Run History of the workflow.

I have tried:

Updating the account id in the response table and hit “retry” under the failed workflow - Does not work.

I have tried removing the account id from the workflow-sync setup and pressed Retry after that - Does not work.

I have tried retaking the response again after I changed the account id in the response data - Does not work.

Is there another way that I’m not familiar with?

Thanks in advance

-Mattias

@MattiasM

If account id which is coming is incorrect do we have the correct account id to map it to salesforce? or are we using some other parameter to map responses?. Additionally, have you included that new field in workflow task?

I believe if you map the new field in workflow, where you would have the correct accountid and retake the survey for that response you should be able to map it back to Salesforce.

Hope it helps!

Good morning from a rainy Sweden @Deepak  and thanks for your response.

The data has been corrected now so any new responses is synced properly. My issue is the month of failed syncs that I would like to “retry” and they pick up on the new setup and sync correctly.

My issue is that I can’t ask hundreds of people to retake the questionnaire to get a successful sync. I would have liked to be able to trigger the failed ones and have them read off the updated sync parameters and then become successful.

All the best

-Mattias
