Simple chart does not show since last time? How do you compare score on time?

Hi folks Curious to know, how you guys compare scores on time? E.g. score 2018 vs Score 2017 on a simple chart. The score value is in the same column field, so only the date dimension differentiates these two scores. I know the number chart is the only one really showing some historical/development "since" xx. I'd assume this is an important part of understanding a kpi/pi/score - but did it go up or down.. Would love to hear how you guys came across this Thanks!
