How can I add a definition if someone hovers over a word or phrase?

I am not a programmer. (I took one intro class in C back in 1995, and a friend taught me some basic html around the same time.) I created a slider question, and right now I have definitions in parentheses after my statements. If possible, I would like to remove the definitions from the display and only display them if someone hovers over the word or phrase. Qualtrics Support said it's easy to do with some html code but that Support can't help me with that so it would be a good idea to post here. If anyone could assist me, I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

MYA
This doc lays out how to have definitions appear when a user hovers over the choice text. There's a lot there, but, for the most part, it's all cut & paste.
