How to pipe in a calculation on the embedded values or Question response?

How to pipe in a calculation on the embedded values or Question response?
Example:
Q#1: Which year did you purchase a car?
Answer options: 2005,2006,2007
The user chose the answer 2006

Now, I want to pipe in the response from Q#1 in another question and subtract a value from that reponse. Example, 2006-1= 2005
That is, Q#2: Would you buy a car in the year {pipe in 2005}

How to do this?
