Other Respondents Answers While Taking Survey

JohnCovelli

I am brand new to Qualtrics, and OF COURSE we want to do something that seems to be rather advanced... we want to be able to have respondents collaborate to answer the questions, so they can see each others' answers as they are responding/completing the questionnaire. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Hi JohnCovelli ,
Welcome! If you are using Individual links sent by email, or Personal links, respondents can share the links with others to collaborate. They just need to be careful that only one person is using the link at a time, so they don't interfere with or undo each others' work.

we want all the previous answers to be seen while taking the survey... for example:
How would you describe your day:
Jim: busy!
Sue: easy today!
Bill: hard. learning something new today
Marti: good
My answer: ______________

I suppose you could insert a link to a live published report somewhere in the survey. It wouldn't show responses that are in progress, however, and it would have to be in a separate tab or browser window.

Thanks for your responses Matthew... here is an example I saw on another discussion- notice how if someone takes it, and then another person takes it, these responses will be listed right there in the survey.

The problem for me is that I do not understand how he ( NIC ) achieved it... I will also post the link to the discussion... maybe you can figure it out?

Sorry if I'm not following this correctly, but I don't think either the sandbox survey (which pipes data from one question to another within a single session) or the Community discussion (which seems to involve hiding questions that are answered by previous collaborators) are the same as what you are trying to do. What NIC suggested involves using a combination of different advanced features. I've never done it myself, so I don't know that I'd be of much help even if I thought it was the right solution (which I'm not convinced it is).

aha I see what you are saying... good eye!
I did visit the link and saw how one of my answers remained as I took the survey again, showing me my previous response while answering a second time... however I think you are right, in that I do not wish for certain question to go away once they have been answered.

Thanks again Matthew for your help!
