Why does the distribution status show "Survey started" as soon as an email is sent?

I'm wondering why an email sent (individual link and no embedded inline question) immediately shows all contacts as "Survey started". i.e. Survey sent count is the same as the Survey started count. It doesn't make any sense for the full sample to have all clicked on the survey link at the survey send time. If anyone can please shed some light on this, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Apparently, this relates to the server security setting on the recipient's email account, whereby the email provider 'opens' the survey link to check that it is legitimate, i.e. safe to open.
Hope this helps others who may have been wondering the same thing.

In survey options > Security you can turn on the Security scan monitor feature and that is supposed to cause surveys to not be started when this happens.
