About IRB rules

Hi @Hoda , 1. This is kind of complicated but basically Qualtrics locks in the version of the survey as it was at the time the respondent clicks the link. According to Support this is done by design. As a result, you can edit a survey and publish it, and anyone who already has the link, but has not clicked it, will see the the latest version of the survey. However, anyone who already clicked the link will not see the latest version. You can delete the in-progress responses of those who have not answered any questions so they will see the latest version, but there's no way I know of to push through the updated version of the survey to respondents that have already taken it without either deleting their response (so they have to take it over from the beginning) or closing their response and reopening it, then sending them the new Retake Link. 2. I don't think a force response is against IRB practices per se, especially if a Don't Know or Not Sure option is made available, but each IRB has its own rules and interpretations so it may depend on the particular board. And not to speak for Qualtrics but a lot of projects it supports are not subject to IRB review so a force response is not an issue in that respect.
