Redirect survey takers who click a link to the original destination page if they need to login?

I have a link in my survey that opens a new window when clicked on. If people are SSO logged into our system and click on the link, it takes them to the destination page without problem. If they are not logged in, after they login the link will just take them to a more generic landing page. Is there anything I can do in HTML or perhaps another way that would allow me to ensure they still land on the correct page after logging in?

How to set Maximum Length (character limit) on each field in the Text Entry question "Form" type?

Hello everyone, How can I limit the text entry to five characters total for each field in a text entry "Form" type question? I know how to do this for single line, but not for "form." In other words, I need the validation to limit the Maximum Length to 5 characters, but it can also be as little as 0 characters (an empty field) to pass the validation. I want to accept string characters, periods, and spaces, as long as they do not add up to more than 5 characters. Thank you in advance. ! Hello everyone! I figured it out. There may be a faster way to do this, but this works too. For each field make sure there is no validation. Then under question validation, choose "Custom Validation" and for each field use Matches Regex to "^[A-Za-z0-9 .]{0,5}$" . This allowed me to accept, letters, numbers, periods, and spaces, all up to five characters of it.

When generating a custom built QSF, how can I ensure it meets formatting requirements?

My company writes a lot of surveys. Historically this process has consisted of someone writing a survey in word, and then someone else converting the content in word into a survey in Qualtrics (via copy and pasting and is very manual and time intensive). We have built a tool that takes a survey from word, following very specific formatting requirements, and then converts that to a QSF file based on the Qualtrics QSF (JSON) file content and structure. This generated QSF file can then be uploaded to Qualtrics and will result in a survey (with a few simple components in place, like question type, force response on, formatting including bolding, italics, etc.). The idea behind the tool we have built is to remove the process of taking a survey from Word to Qualtrics by writing it in a format that can go directly to Qualtrics. The challenge we are facing is Qualtrics QSF content and structure is constantly changing / evolving. Most of those changes have not caused a problem with our tool, b

skip to end of survey if next button is not chosen within a certain time limit

Hello,I am hiding the next button and displaying it after a delay successfully using Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function() {$('NextButton').hide();setTimeout(function() { jQuery("#NextButton").show(); },5000);});.I would like the participants to hit the next button within 3 seconds after it appears, otherwise, they will disqualify and the survey should end without them seeing another question. I tried using a timing question with auto-advance after delay option but I cannot auto-advance to the end of the survey, it skips to the next question. I should also be able to note that this participant exited the survey and not finish it. I'll be grateful for any help, thank you.

Dynamically Update two separate Scores for Multiple Choice Questions?

Import results/response for external task back into Qualtrics survey

I have a research design that involves respondents playing a simple javascript game (which I guess I'll serve via an in a question block, but perhaps there's a better way to do this?) -- and then recording the score of that game back into the survey instrument (as embedded data or a question response) so that it is linked with the rest of the respondent's responses for data analysis.Can this be done using the API, and if so what calls would need to be used ? (I am very novice with this, never tried anything like this before)...

Setting Embedded Variable - When back button is ON!

Greetings,We have a particular requirement i.e. setting embedded variables in live survey with back button ON! Having said this, when the respondent is moving back and forth in the link, embedded variable should hold revised value in it. Have tried this in one of the demo survey, since have limited access to client QSF.Example: Considering having 10 questions starting from Q1 to Q10. Based on the response provided, I saw Q1, Q3, Q5, Q6, Q7, Q8 and Q10 in the link. At Q10, I decided to go back till Q5.·      On Q8, post clicking back button, all my embedded variables which are associated to Q8 only will be set to blank.·      So still while going back, embedded variables associated with Q7 and Q6 will be also set to blank.·      Now after I update my responses at Q5, so the embedded variables associated to this question will be also updated accordingly – post clicking ‘next’ button.Block Name to be referred: Block 3 - Method 3Attached QSF and Block which needs your insights whether this

Dynamically integrate a slider value in a same-page follow-up question

Hello Qualtrics Community, I am trying to dynamically extract the value of a slider question and display it in a mathematically manipulated form in a consecutive question on the same page.Specifically, my question looks something like the example below:Thus, in the bottom text I would like to display the price a respondent would have to pay given the protein and quantity they selected. So, for example, if someone selects chicken breasts and 10lbs., then on the bottom it would show $20. Display two dynamically updating scores to respondents for multi-select (checkbox) questions

Hello Qualtrics Community, I am previously generated a questions (and received help with) a question where respondents are able to freely put together a frozen yoghurt or fruit cup using a multi-select format and the number of calories displayed on the bottom of the question is dynamically updated to show the total number of calories of their order (see image).The code that I was generously given for this purpose can be found here: https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/14801/display-dynamically-updating-scores-to-respondents-for-multi-select-checkbox-questions#latest.However, I am now trying to update the code to not only dynamically show the total number of calories but also the total price of the item, assuming each ingredient has its own price (e.g. sprinkles are $0.40, bananas are $0.80, etc.).To do so I adjusted the original code as shown below. Align multiple choice question text and single answer radio buttons/labels to be all horizontal?

I would think selecting the "Horizontal" option would do this but it doesn't - I want to style my question to look like the attached image. I can handle styling the buttons but I am unsure how to align the text and answers to be side by side like how Qualtrics' Help pages have. See a screenshot here: ! Note: I don't think it matters but just in case - I am loading this survey in an iframe into an existing webpage (a knowledge base).

Problem: Javacode carries over to next block

Hi,I have a javacode in one block that enables participants to answer by pressing on a key (L or Q) on their keyboard which automatically advances to the next block. Problem, on the next block with an open ended question, when participants type in a text that includes one the key L or Q, it skips to the following question, like the java code is carrying over to the next block (while it isn't present in the code of this block). It doesn't happen when I put the block before the block with java.Could you please help me with this!!! ?Thank you very much

Loop and Merge: EVEN randomization

Hi, I'm using loop and merge over 500 text-blocks (500 paragraphs). Each subject should evaluate a subset with randomly selected 50 text-blocks. Is there any way to make sure that we have an even random allocation, such that each text-block is displayed to only 10 subjects (very much similar to even randomizing function in the survey flow but for loop and merge)? So far I´ve found this solution . But given the number of my text-blocks it's inefficient, I was wondering if it is the only solution! Best, Rah

How to grey out multiple choice once quota has been met?

Hi there,I have a survey where I ask the user to select one of three options (all three have a quota limit), and my goal is to grey out any of the options once the quota limit has been met. Trouble Using the API to Get Survey Responses

I'm attempting to use the Qualtrics API to get survey responses with Python (see https://api.qualtrics.com/docs/response-exports). I've basically copied the sample code verbatim, replacing it with my API Token, Survey ID, Data Center, etc. But when it gets to the step of downloading the file, in the following code, it fails. Step 3: Downloading file requestDownloadUrl = baseUrl + progressId + '/file' requestDownload = requests.request("GET", requestDownloadUrl, headers=headers, stream=True) This returns the following: { "meta":{ "httpStatus":"400 - Bad Request", "error":{ "errorMessage":"Cannot download response export file through datacenter proxing, please retry using the url of the datacenter the API user belongs to: CO1", "errorCode":"GRP_1" }, "requestId":"" } } My data center is set correctly, so I'm confused about what could be causing this. Prepend Text to Multiple Choice Question Options

I have many multiple-choice questions with four options. I need to update them all to have the prefixes A., B., C., D. before each option. Multiple choice question with descriptive columns

I have a multiple-choice where each answer corresponds with two descriptive columns. Cost               Cost per Unit       $0                             $0     $1,000                       $50       ...                                ...Participants will select one row using a radio button on the very left. How can I make this sort of question using Qualtrics? I am envisioning using the multiple-choice question type, but I'm not sure how to go about making it.

Is it possible to do semi-randomization for 6 blocks?

Hello! I am currently designing a survey in which participants will view 3 sets of paired blocks (total of 6 blocks). I want to randomize the order of the blocks that they see, but ensure that paired blocks are never viewed directly before or after the other pair. For example: If we have blocks A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2An example of an appropriate order would be: A1, B1, C2, A2, B2, C1 or A2, C1, B2, A1, C2, B1However, we want to avoid the following: A1, A2, B1, C1, B2, C2, B1 (because A's are viewed consecutively) or A1, B2, B1, C1, A2, C2 (because B's are viewed consecutively). Would this require custom code? If so, any assistance/direction would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance for any help!!

How to send Qualtrics survey from custom application not from Qualtrics.

Dear All,Our aim is distribute Qualtrics survey by Email and SMS but from a custom application not from Qualtrics. We will create a survey in Qualtrics and add the Contacts/Mailing List in the Qualtrics, but distribution should be happen outside Qualtrics.We are planning to create a NodeJS application or any other approach appreciated. our main aim is to get the contacts and mailing list from Qualtrics and get the Survey URL and distribute to all contacts outside Qualtrics. SMTP configuration /SMS gateway will be done outside Qualtrics. But Survey response , distributed list should be updated in Qualtrics.
