We had a chance to hear from Taina Northington, Director of Communications at Killeen ISD in TX and Lisa Gilchrist, Director of Public Relations at Meridian School District in Washington. Taina shared, "If you think Qualtrics is only for surveys, let’s chat! There are so many ways it can be used in K-12 School PR to improve brand, workflows, and most importantly: TRUST!"
Taina and Lisa shared some key reasons they selected Qualtrics as well as some powerful use cases. Access the webinar we hosted: here. Passcode: 58+3#gMH
Here are some Cliffs Notes from the webinar:
Key reasons Meridian selected Qualtrics:
- Increasing transparency & trust
- Translations
- Taking action on feedback
- Increased response rates
Powerful use cases at Meridian:
- Asking the community what questions they have. They received 2,000 responses to develop forms for those topics.
- Appointment sign-ups: conferences
- Student spotlight form
- Bus rider eligibility form that uses imported data from their SIS (Skyward) to see if students are eligible for a bus route
- Food services collecting orders
- Human Resources: resignations/retirements
- Family services: referral form for services
- Eligibility form for special education services
- After there is an interpreter working with a family they fill out a survey about that experience
Key reasons Killeen ISD selected Qualtrics:
- Need for climate/culture: They have a high mobility rate and their population has changed a lot. Therefore, they need to continually take a pulse on the voices in their community.
- Transparency and action plans with public facing dashboards which you can see here
Powerful use cases at Killeen ISD:
- Stakeholder feedback/public dashboards showing students, parent and faculty feedback
- Dashboards for principals of survey completion rate
- Stoplight reporting- Every principal spoke with every employee 4 questions about what they like and don't like and they used Qualtrics to collect the data.
- Substitute survey- They automatically send a text to substitutes after they sub and ask them 4 basic questions in a survey:
- How was your day?
- Were you briefed on school safety?
- Would you return to this campus?
- Did you feel supported throughout the day?
This data can be used to improve experiences for substitutes.
What is your biggest takeaway from these use cases?
